See he’s got a 2 match ban, and is missing the final, unless he wins his appeal . Do you think that’s fair or harsh?

Actually I think the ban not long enough - his action of twisting his opponents arm up behind his back was deliberate and could easily have broken the arm or dislocated the shoulder.

Totally fair. It's his own fault.

I think 2 games is lenient.  He dishes it out every time I see Saints on TV.  The club has now appealed which is ridiculous. I would  double it for being frivolous. If they want to stop severe injiuries discipline should be severe in cases like this.

It looked naughty to me, and I would say that a two match ban is fair, but...............

It's just been on 5Live that Saints are appealing, but..............

What will that achieve?

Not for a minute can I see the powers-that-be at the disciplinary reversing their decision, but.........

Even if it's reduced to a single game, he'll still be sat in the stand at OT.

If it remains at two, could he (if he's in the squad) serve the second one in the World Cup?

Spelly.

Yes, bans carry over to W.C, which is why Bateman is going to miss a large chunk of it/all if not picked. Less of an issue than most sports as first few matches likely to be irrelevant and only get going for the semis onwards.

Some players seem to have adopted a view that they are the new 'hard men' and can get away with pretty well anything. That view has to be binned or smaller clubs cop out again.

The whole tackled/ 'held' area needs to be re-visited bearing in mind the latest head injuries regulations. The vertical wrestle is seeing a load of injury problems, many of which would never happen if the ref shouted 'held' when forward progress was halted.

Who knows the real 'offload' (as practised by Vinty etc!) could return.

Post Covid the laws need reconsideration, along with the Aussie hierarchy, to regularise the international application of the laws.

He's now been cleared to play after a second appeal!

Comments?

Oh Jeeze!!

I work in Leeds and they make Widnes fans look like Mother Theresa when it comes to moaning about being hard done to by the ref/disciplinary panel/TV commentators/pundits. Won't hear the end of this tomorrow.

Yea shocking isn’t it. Must have took a big brown envelope with them this time!!
Have you ever heard of a player getting 2 appeals for the same offence?
Apparently they said they hadn’t seen the video evidence properly the first time🙄

Is it possible that the video evidence had not been seen properly until the second appeal because Saints have made a new ending to the incident which shows Knowles holding the opponents arm in an attempt to help him up and the incident witnessed live which looked (allegedly )like an LAPD arrest was misconstrued by most of the viewers and was in fact an act of sportsmanship.

It's a joke really. Saints really are the new Wigan.

Thinking about it, Saints now have Knowles playing when he shouldn't be but Leeds will be missing Sezer when there is probably nothing wrong with him. Doesn't strike me as right that.

@spelly Total joke and shows what control the likes of Saints have over the RFL. Next they will be giving Knowles an award for his sportsmanship in giving a helping hand up after the tackle.

Am I alone in (until yesterday) being unaware that a second appeal could be made?

If unsuccessful in the second, can you make a third, a fourth, a ninety-ninth?

I've no doubt that he'll get mega-poo off the Leeds / neutral fans, but will that just inspire him to have a stormer of a game?

Had he been a Chemic, an 'Ornit, or a Lion, would the same decision have transpired? Answers on a brown envelope please! 🤣

Absolutely disgraceful decision, I suppose he could get sent off in the first minute at OT
