Will Roberts on loan from Sts

Widnes Vikings are pleased to announce the signing of Will Roberts on an initial two-week loan from St Helens.

The promising halfback is the younger brother of Vikings player Max Roberts and has spent time on loan for Swinton this season, scoring two tries in three appearances.

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “He’s a player I’ve watched since he was 6/7 years old. I’ve coached him before, and obviously, he’s Max’s brother.

“He’s a very talented player, superb kicking game, and a real run threat. He scores a lot of tries as a half, which is something that will be very important for us.

“He’s going to come in and lift us, and I think the fans will see what he’s got to offer this weekend.”

If his work ethic is anything like his big Brother's he'll be a good asset for us.

@prisoner it did make me laugh when I read it in the article.

Least it’s only a couple of games on loan at them.

Comes with a decent pedigree from saints academy but I think it’s a cauldron of fire for the poor lad against the best team in the league missing a few of our senior players to guide and support him on field

@scouseviking55

not sure scouse - we have played well for half of the game 2 weeks running, but run out of options - so he could bring that extra dimension

we live in hope
