I was really surprised at your result, especially after you stuffed ‘Fax last week, and I’ve mentioned summat on my report. Struggling for numbers? Join the club guys! It’s only the past coupe of weeks where we’ve been anywhere near full strength, and even then, we’ve lost ’em both! Injuries are part and parcel of a game as brutal as ours. It’s a lonnnnnnnnnnng way home from up there when you’ve lost, and a journey I’ve made on many an occasion. Someone has mentioned you were once World Champs. Yes you were, and I was at OT that evening, but it’s the now that matters, not the then, and we’re both suffering from the “now isn’t very good syndrome” at present, You treading water, and us already relegated, but as the old saying goes…… There’s always next season! Spelly.

What about Swinton and Salford sharing Moor Lane Is that of any merit

Some Lions' fans think so, but for me personally, it's a "NO!"

It's not in M27 so as far as I'm concerned, it'd just be yet another move that's not in Swinton.

Call me stubborn (or worse) if you want, but as I've said many times on here, and elsewhere too, if it's not in Swinton, it wouldn't be home!

As a club, you've never suffered being booted out of somewhere you love dearly, so you might not understand, but to answer your question - No it won't / wouldn't!

Spelly.

And right there is the problem If the club in firing on all cylinders we would have got 2500 to 3000 attending Instead it will be about 1000. Im still attending as its something I will always do no matter what But the scale of that defeat today is something that needs to be examined by the controlling directors as it has a direct impact on revenue No disrespect to Simon finnegan but there are some notable coaches out there, namely 1 Danny ward 2 Paul Rowley 3 Brian mcdermott

Just a thought, but if we brought in Ward, Rowley or McDermott or all three next week and we were then stuffed in our last three games, would people be calling for them to be sacked?

I am not great at researching stats etc, but from what I can see, Lee Jewitt has played only 21 games since the start of 2017. If this is the case, if he was signed on anything other than a pay as you play contract, then whoever was responsible for his signing is completely incompetent.

This is in no way a slight on the player, as there are another couple of recent signings whose appearances in the last couple of seasons are not much better.

Why, do we seem to have this compulsion to sign players with injuries or very poor injury records and then complain when we have an "injury crisis".

Would love to, Roy, but I don't think it's right I should comment, as I didn't attend today, due to a previous engagement(thankfully).

What I will say is, if the silence continues from the Board, then maybe some of them are wishing they had never invested, or maybe want out. Maybe the Club is dead, after all?

They did not invest

They saved the club

None of them is in it for the money

Maybe you should invest your life savings if you think it's an investment

But no relax

Take it easy and fire the bullets

I must stop picking Widnes to win in the prediction league. I predicted a loss against Halifax. Not sure now about the Oldham game next week. Maybe go for a draw!!! See a few of the sack Finnegan crew are back this week. Funnily enough, they weren’t around last week. Must have been on holiday. Can’t really comment on today’s game. Just another to add to the embarrassing results this season. We have no right to beat a team like Whitehaven who have won 9 games this season and are 7th in the league, but surely not a 60 point hammering. Just need to get this season over with and hope the club can turn things around, with some better signings and a more balanced squad for 2022.

See the defenders of the faith are again missing, not even going to comment on the game I take no pride though in been proved right time after time.

What has Finnigan done to deserve another crack next season. I understand those saying we need stability but surely you can’t keep your job when you have massively underachieved beyond comprehension.

I don’t see how anyone can still see the positive in SF?

The winger was it Brookes? missed about three easy tackles, shocking effort from a young player.

INVEST; provide or endow someone or something with (a particular quality or attribute).

The investors did save the club, that cannot be argued against. I never said they did it for profit, although I'm sure that would be welcomed. As for my money, I wouldn't touch RL, it's dying on it's arse. Back to the Board, surely the 7-8 'investors' didn't think it stopped at the 'buy-in'? There had to be a back up, to take the Club forward. It's their business to know the detail, not you, I or any of the 'customers' who pay for our admission. That said, the Board seem to be fiddling while Rome burns. There appears to be zero 'soundbites' coming from the CEO. No rallying of the troops, no incentives to boost attendances (don't for one minute think that a second child goes free v Oldham, is an incentive!). If the Club don't shout the positives from the rooftops, then there must be a lot of negatives surrounding Naughton Park.

Paulie xx

Whilst I agree with Primrose Viking that the Directors did not invest to make money , once they did it is their responsibility to run the club in a satisfactory manner .I do applaud them for taking on such an onerous task however there are far too many mistakes being made and the club has descended into a diabolical position . When are we going to get some leadership from the Directors ?

I accept that running a business is very difficult and that you can make mistakes along the way , it is how quickly you rectify these has a bearing on if you survive .

Clearly across the board we are lacking in experience and badly need a change .

Recruitment this year was a disaster and this year’s appears to be going the same way ,having already not addressed the prop forward situation which surely should have been the priority before the signing of any more backs , some of which are not showing any leadership when the going gets tough.

The situation with Tomkins , Jewitt , and Cook needs addressing with some kind of explanation to the supporters , if mistakes have been made we need to know and the appropriate action taken to make sure it does not happen again .I note that someone has said Tomkins will be paid by furlough , is that really the case for as I understand it this payment was only available for those who because of COVID were not earning, but he could not earn his wage because he was injured and anyhow he was presumably earning from being self employed in his business and if not would claim against this . This would presumably leave Widnes to pay is contract money.

We badly need some leadership otherwise as many people on here have stated the support will not be there .Quite clearly we have seen reduced attendances and in my opinion it is not all due to COVID .

Communication from our leadership is diabolical borne out by the fact that every match people around me are asking each other the same question whether anyone has any information on the varying aspects of the club .

Frustrated rant over and back to supporting my club as a proud Widnesian .

No never even thought about it was in the Horse and jockey eating tapas and listening to a Bavarian brass band with a few other ex die hards, who like myself have given up.

A young player who made his debut a few weeks ago amid a player shortage. Has played maybe 4 games all off the bench in 2 years because of Covid-19 and apart from that never played against men. Possibly just isn't ready for Championship Rugby and playing in a poor side with no forwards. Point the finger where the blame rightly lies at the people who assembled the squad primarily and who have not been able to improve the situation but definitely not at a very young player.

there needs to be a lot of decent signings and publicity to get anyone interested in next year, this season has been awful and then we face what 4 months with no rugby when people decide to do other stuff and may lose interest themselves. 1 more season like this will kill the club.
