We have a prop

With Dupree, Amour and Kibula plus Nzoungou, Farnworth and Tilleke we should have a pretty big/tough front row next season!

Where have you got this information from? I have not seen Amor nor Kibula mentioned anywhere before as rumoured signings. Amor is 35 next May, too old IMO & a season too far & Kibula looks to be another injury prone prop as has missed all this season due to a snapped achilles tendon. Nyzoungou has also been out all season with a bad injury. It looks like we are possibly repeating the same mistakes again. At least the Chapelhows get onto the pitch & play. It could work out but huge risks again with 3 of these if indeed these last 2 have been signed up as well. I think it is worth gambling on 1 injury prone / aged player but 3 is far too many.

Amor has played 20 games for St Helens this season and we don't want him?! Nonsense.

The Amor talk actually started from a comment he made while doing a commentary on a Widnes game, that he wouldn't mind playing somewhere like Widnes part-time if Saints don't offer him a deal.

If this lad only plays 10 games he has contributed 10 times more than Jewitt has this season. Two senior players in Cook and Jewitt have hardly played. Clough and Smith are senior players who have contributed, so Amor would be a good start. I would offer more to a senior prop at one of the top 4 sides, who definitely has experience in the Championship.

I said I would only risk signing 1 aged or injury prone prop not 3. I did not say anyone in particular but as we have signed 2 such props already I think it would be folly to sign Amor as well. It is common sense not nonsense. We have had our fingers burnt this year by doing this  & are looking to do the same again!

Regardless of who else we have signed, if Amor wants to come here, he should be signed.

Met a Wigan scout at a crusaders game. A guy called jacko. Said he knew sir Douglas Laughton. He said some interesting things about scouting at Widnes over many years.

Also told me Williams is on 400k at wire

Nzongou must have the raw materials given the clubs he’s played for – though he will have to be substantially better than when I saw him play for Albi in the French Championship. As has been said, might not be too dissimilar to the Lawton situation – if Finnigan can get the best out of him on a consistent basis, then it might be a good one. Seems he was doing more than OK for Bradford before the injury.

Never heard of him to be honest the clubs he played for you refer to are Oldham Haven Swinton Doncaster. don’t get me wrong i hope he is a great signing for us but IMO he he is really been bigged up by some who probably know just as much as myself about him. We give the Chap twins a lot of grief but at his age they where both playing regular SL. My concern is the injury only time will tell but I thought signing injured players was a thing of the past with lessons learnt.

Nicely ignoring the fact he’s been on the books at St Helens, Melbourne and Hull.

Just like your good self bigged him up by not mentioning he played most of his games in the lower grade but that's journalism eh.

So we need an aggressive prop, with experience, not injured at present and not had any serious injuries in the past. Tall order! Obviously Phil Finney, Finnigan and co won’t have taken that sort of thing into account!

Well they didn't last year

Students of the game know he has a great deal of potential

Who are these students ?

Quite possible that they took TIm Sheens word that they were OK. Might even have been why he left!
