So, regardless of results, Wakey are up and London are down. Job done then 👍

@gpo1971 on the current gradings, Toulouse will be promoted at the expense of Castleford too. Although it is quite tight between Wakefield in 11th and Bradford in 14th.

No need to bother with the actual rugby, just get the spreadsheets out.

Ironic isn't it? In 2011 we were all in favour of promotion by spreadsheets and against relegation. It's a bit depressing being on the wrong side of the drawbridge.

I thought it didn't have to be up and down same numbers. If you meet the criteria, you're in. So if Wakey, Bratford, Cas and whoever else get the 15 points, they're all in!

@gpo1971 from what I read, if you achieve an A grade you're in? At which point they would have to come up with a different system as there's barely enough players for a 12 team competition, let alone 14 or more.

As I saw it there were not enough A graded teams so the rest are made up of the top B graded teams, which does not include widnes

how you improve is a little difficult, as you cannot move your location, the league position too is difficult, attendances - yes, academy - yes, communication - yes

but not sure that would amount to enough points as all SL teams will keep more league position points

anyway happier were we are being (for now) a big fish in a small pond and enjoying watching the games

@ditton-donkey There doesnt appear to be additional points for an academy according to the IMG grading system for this year. That's not to say there won't be for the next round of grading.

Also there are only 0.25 points for winning the championship grand final, whi h is probably done to stop someone being promoted.

Hamilton is a paid administrator, not an owner, and as such shouldn't go anywhere near the dressing room or dug-outs on a match day.

That's the job of the coaching and ancillary staff.

Whoever pulled him in line regarding his radio outburst maybe could now drag him away from sausage spotting each game.

So is it 100% the case that next years SL teams will be set by their ranking by IMG and as such Hull FC can continue to be garbage forever as long as they keep their IMG score up?

Hull had a Grade A licence score, which guarantees SL. They'll probably score the same again. Even if they don't, they won't drop away enough to be removed from SL.

I seem to remember that Toulouse and Wakey scored higher than Leigh and Cas but Wakey were relegated last time based on finishing bottom of SL. That no longer applies so, if the ratings were to stay the same this year (they won't), and the SL remains a 10-club division, Leigh and Cas would be going down to let in Toulouse and Wakey, irrespective of performances.

"IMG main aim is to have the Super League made entirely of Grade A clubs and by grading clubs it highlights areas they are to improve on. Having expressed plans to expand Super League it is possible that if and when more than 12 clubs were Graded A then the league would expand to keep these clubs out of the Championship as Grade A clubs are exempt from relegation.[8] Following a statement where the IMG claimed that the chances of the Championship Grand Final winners being denied promotion were "very remote", doubts were shed over how the system would work, as initially it was understood that the remaining Super League places would be taken up by the highest ranked Grade B clubs, however this statement suggested that so long as the Championship winner and bottom placed Super League club were both Grade B promotion and relegation would occur as normal.[9] Neither IMG nor the RFL have clarified either of these issues."

No way should Bradford be that high in the listings. Fat Nige is pulling strings to get them in. They have offered little on the little pitch, the ground (not theirs) is a disgrace. Bullmania of the early Noughties has dwindled down to a few thousand, they must  employ somebody to like and retweet everything they do on SM to get the IMG figures elevated. And don't forget, they have gone bust more times than I care to remember, and not by a James Rule asset stripping exercise.

The Yorkshire Mafia, right there.

Paulie xx
