We have a prop

Nzongou must have the raw materials given the clubs he's played for - though he will have to be substantially better than when I saw him play for Albi in the French Championship.

As has been said, might not be too dissimilar to the Lawton situation - if Finnigan can get the best out of him on a consistent basis, then it might be a good one.

Seems he was doing more than OK for Bradford before the injury.

Makes me laugh now Kyle Amor’s name is constantly mentioned on here. Still playing in big games and winning trophies in SL. If he was to leave Saints it would be for another club in SL, or a competitive Championship outfit.

Aren't we aiming to be a competitive Championship outfit next year? I guess it comes down to who can offer him the best deal and that may put us out of contention, but you never know.

Never heard of him to be honest the clubs he played for you refer to are Oldham Haven Swinton Doncaster.

don't get me wrong i hope he is a great signing for us but IMO he he is really been bigged up by some who probably know just as much as myself about him. We give the Chap twins a lot of grief but at his age they where both playing regular SL. My concern is the injury only time will tell but I thought signing injured players was a thing of the past with lessons learnt.

I hope he can produce the form shown on his promotional video. But after the signings and mistakes made with players with ongoing injuries last seas on, Why are we seemingly going down the same route again. There must be some fit props out there somewhere. Why can't Widnes find them. Other clubs with less resources can.

Give the lad a chance before he has even played a game for us. He is still only 23, but has clearly shown some potential, as evidenced by the clubs that signed him. Maybe Finnegan believes that he can help him realise that potential.

As for his injury, I can see why fans are pessimistic given the club's injury record over recent years, but as far as I can tell he does not have a long history of injuries and the club must be satisfied that he will make a full recovery from his current injury. Any player can pick up an injury.

Maybe this time next year, after being voted player of the year, posters will be criticising Finney for not signing him on a longer contract!

Nobody is slating the lad Frank I do not even know if he is injured or how bad but if the injury is what people are saying then it is not a minor one that is my concern and it is surly a gamble and with our recent history of signing injured players you  must understand many are sceptical  and are seeing groundhog day once again.

So we need an aggressive prop, with experience, not injured at present and not had any serious injuries in the past. Tall order!

Obviously Phil Finney, Finnigan and co won't have taken that sort of thing into account!

Nicely ignoring the fact he's been on the books at St Helens, Melbourne and Hull.

And Toulouse.

I think that we buy players who may have injuries to wind up the more excitable fans Mick. At this stage it has to be a joke.

Amour is at Saints but is 34, similar to us signing Clough from Huddersfield and Cook from Castleford.

Suppose he could go to Whitehaven as they are going well, but he may well live in St Helens now as he's been there a long time? It wouldn't surprise me to sign him as we have a lot of ex Saints players in the squad. Depends if he has a job lined up or if he wants to stay full time at somewhere like Wakey, Leigh or Salford.

With Dupree, Amour and Kibula plus Nzoungou, Farnworth and Tilleke we should have a pretty big/tough front row next season!

Where have you got this information from? I have not seen Amor nor Kibula mentioned anywhere before as rumoured signings. Amor is 35 next May, too old IMO & a season too far & Kibula looks to be another injury prone prop as has missed all this season due to a snapped achilles tendon.

Nyzoungou has also been out all season with a bad injury. It looks like we are possibly repeating the same mistakes again. At least the Chapelhows get onto the pitch & play. It could work out but huge risks again with 3 of these if indeed these last 2 have been signed up as well. I think it is worth gambling on 1 injury prone / aged player but 3 is far too many.

All speculation so far, pascal with his boner appears to know most than most, James will report anything from the bbc - apart from that who knows ?
but if  some of this is true it is good news

still await funding news, but reckon we should be looking at circa 1 mill  budget for next season

with sick notes gone we will be in a far better place

still waiting for the 2 times sl announcement , but where do the remaining clubs go - or are they being let go like Blackpool borough ?

Its different a young player having one bad injury to being injury prone...

Also enough time on his side at 23.

If we get another few props in addition then that should be all fine, as opposed to this year where 2 of the 3 senior props have hardly played.

Students of the game know he has a great deal of potential
