The official site squad has been updated, 25 man squad. Our 4 new signings are added plus 4 lads from the academy.

Need to be lucky with injuries if we aren't bringing anyone else in!
The Chaps haven't been picked up yet - could be decent padding for our pack in case of injuries.
Don't know the 4 promoted reserve players that well, but none are hookers, so I think I'm right in thinking we have only got one specialist there in Tomkins.

From the pre season footage on social media it looks like Else is running as hooker.
If he stays fit he’ll be good for us.
Haven't seen anything of O'Neil , looks a tough nut but a bit on the small side. Has he been tried at hooker?
We did have Lewis Hulme in the academy but that option seems to have fizzled out.

There are still quite a few players looking for a club in 2021. I reckon that there still might be one or two signings in the New Year.
Is Jacob Dugdale still at Widnes. He had a few games in 2019 and seemed to have the makings of a decent player.
I’m sure that we will add more players to the squad. Probably the club are waiting to see the season ticket numbers are like before splashing our limited cash on players.
We have a pretty good core of experienced, but not too old, players. Using yougsters in that core should give them a reasonable chance to establish themselves.
Totally agree that throwing a junior pack in without some guidance is asking for trouble and not fair to the youngsters. Farnworth should really get a chance this year, looking forward to it.
Tilleke is a new one to me.Must've passed me by.

You must of missed a home game then as he scored a try, small but gets stuck in. Leg injury stopped him making more appearances.
No I did see that game, a very well taken try!
My question was whether he had any prospects as a hooker.
I would expect another 3 or 4 players. It must be tough to budget without confirmed crowd numbers/season ticket sales. We have released 3 back rowers and signed none. Of Wilde, Cooper and Leuluia 2 of them were regular starters for us last year.
Tyrer has replaced Johnson in the 3 quarters, although not a direct replacement as a centre for a winger. And then Cook, Clough and Jewitt have replaced Jay, Ted and Moran. Minimum for me would be 2 2nd rowers and a back up hooker. Another prop and a try scoring winger to play on the other side to Deon Cross would be a bonus.
Don't underestimate Buckley, his height makes him a good target for a high ball and we have kickers. He's nudging 15 stone as well so no lightweight.

Please god no! Utterly hopeless those two!
