Good luck to him, and bearing in mind the recent loans, I wonder if the Vikings are developing a close working relationship with Salford??

This was sorted out before he'd played 3 games for us.  Was told mi-February that Dupree was Salford bound next season.

Ramon Silva, According to my friend from Wigan, “Came with big recommendations from London, not had his chance yet. Brazilian so samba time.”

Standby for the “have you hit a Brazilian” jokes

SF was Rowley's trainer at Leigh and Toronto, maybe hence some loan chances with Salford.

Dupree going to SL was inevitable at some point, but doesn't help us with trying to develop a squad that can compete.

Good look to Ramon, he'll need it v Leigh!

I know he’s young, but given his reputation, I’ve been a bit disappointed with Dupree. Hasn’t looked anything special so far.

The fact we’re scrambling around for loan signings so early on shows just how poor the recruitment was during the off season. Baker, Grady, Davies etc were never going to work in the front row. Don’t know why this wasn’t addressed before the season started.

We either tried and failed to get more props in or the recruitment was misjudged. Hard to know which it was. Baker is decent at prop (though arguably better at 13) imo but tend to agree other makeshift options haven’t worked out. Good job we managed to get a season-long deal without recall on Doro or it would be an even bigger issue.

@mt We started the season with six props - Farnworth, Dupree, Tilleke, Nzoungou, Baker and Grady (although he is shown as second row on the club site). How many props do we need? I thought that Doro was brought in to cover for long term injury issue with  Nzoungou, which has been a good signing.

The misjudgement (or is it just bad luck) is the fitness of Nzoungou. It also seems that Finnigan does not rate Tilleke, so why was he offered a contract for 2022? It may well be, of course, that nobody else that we could afford was available.

@frankg Baker and Grady aren’t props Frank, Nzoungou has been injured for the past 12 months and won’t play this season and Tilleke and Farnworth are relative youngsters.

We are now relying on loans for the position.

if it was one season it could be possibly seen as bad luck or perhaps a hiccup in planning. Only thing is this is the third year in a row (at least) that this has happened.

In my opinion to get anywhere in this league a team needs to dominate. If you don’t get the on top of the opposition through the forwards your backs aren’t a factor. If you don’t establish control it means average teams who rely on the forwards as a nattering ram can beat you (even though your backs have more talent). Does that sound like any of the games we’ve played over the past 2 or 3 years ?

I didn’t class Grady as a prop despite the number 10 shirt suggesting otherwise, Frank! And given that Nzoungou was recovering from a serious injury and Tilleke is inexperienced I thought we were lacking in that area. Given we are already on our third loan prop of the season I think there was some credence to that view. Maybe we already had Doro lined up which would make it a bit easier to justify.

How we have fallen to have an even smaller club than us too. Sad times and shows how good investors and Sky money helps. 😔 My passion needs to stay in the bedroom for now.

Yep........the birds have come to roost. Still, as Bill Kenwright (EFC chairman) recently told Everton fans, ''you've had the good days'' maybe that's us to?? 🤔
