If he is fit - he should be turning out for us.

If almost fit - get him properly fit then he plays for us. We need him.

If unfit - why would Fev sign him?

If true, could be he's fallen out with Finnigan / club, or more worryingly we need to shift him off the books £££?

It’s also possible that he just wants to play in a team with a better coach and players

I find that difficult to believe. He’s not gonna get as much game time in Fev side. He was sat with all the other sick notes last Friday and seemed to be in high spirits with them all.

That’s me convincing myself there… 🙄

if this happens I think I’m done with the club actually…

On the premise that it may be true (although I would be shocked!):

Does he not live in Yorkshire? If so, may be an element of wanting to play closer to home with a better team?

Also, I'd expect compensation and/or a player in return. If not, we truly are an amateurish set up.

More widely, I read that Chisholm the HB is leaving Fev on loan to London. Would he suit us, especially whilst Craven is out?

Hope that this is just rumour but, in truth, he hasn't been the explosive forward that we were looking for to spark our season. An older, more consistent replacement wouldn't go amiss. The SL clause in the contract presumably won't apply so it can only be by the club's consent.

He may be looking for a quicker route to fame and fortune but he will have to work a bit harder first!

Doro, on the other hand, is showing just what he can do now and it leaves many of our players in the shade. Farnworth, when fit, is looking more like the player that we need and Lawton might start to work for a longer period in the game. I like Will Tilleke for his courage but he just isn't powerful enough at this level.

If the cash has run out maybe the bidders who were next in line after our present Board might step up? But iirc they were the last in the short line of prospective owners.

Hopefully we can carry on at Championship level but if not perhaps a sad but orderly closure of the club is the answer to all our woes.

Don't think it's all as bad as that....I presume there are more highly paid players/staff that would go in the event of a real financial problem.

Again, if the speculation was true, then as long as we get cash/a player, don't see why it would be a disaster.

Agree that Doro and Farnworth have put real shifts in though!

I sincerely hope it is not financial (if there is any truth at all in the gossip ), as it would show the stupidity of signing another injured player, who will probably sit out the season, and pay him , while we have to get rid of a player who has been amongst our best who will be fit in a week or two.

I have a gut feeling that there is no truth in the rumour, but I am never comfortable with signing injured players, especially with a possible career ending injury and pay them for a season (possibly ) to sit on the bench.

I was not unhappy when we brought Finnegan in , but not gushing with optimism either. He has had enough time now and his lack of ability to attract and put together a decent pack is a massive problem .

The only ray of light is the fact there are enough rank bad teams to keep us out of relegation worries.

This has been some escalation from a rumour about a first-team player (who has been good but not outstanding to date) leaving to join another club in mid-season to the potential "sad but ordely closure of the club"!

@mt Certainly has and I’ll bet the original poster is delighted at the response.

I heard that the same article mentioned that Widnes had approached Francis Cummins to take over as coach next year  and Jim Mills has been signed for the season.

Best treat the whole episode as an 'Easter Egg' joke!

Sadly things generally (economy, Covid etc) are so depressing that almost anything could be true. Maybe taking our other loanee on for longer!!!

Regarding the likelihood of an economic depression, that could hit the financial backers to a number of clubs, and hence the game as a whole. Sad times.
