Turned down a move to Featherstone according to https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/featherstone-rovers-confirm-return-of-dane-chisholm-following-rejected-attempt-for-widnes-star

"Tom Gilmore turns down move to Featherstone

Love Rugby League understands that Featherstone were in the market for Widnes key man Tom Gilmore for an immediate move, rejected by the 29-year-old former Super League playmaker.

Gilmore returned to the Vikings for his second stint ahead of the current Championship season, having featured for Batley across the last two years.

It is believed that Gilmore, who has also played for London Broncos, Halifax and Salford, turned down the move with a year yet remaining on his Widnes contract for 2024.

A product of the club’s academy, Gilmore has made 64 appearances for the side to date, scoring 15 tries and kicking 89 goals.

He has been limited to just six appearances so far in 2023 having suffered a ruptured pectoral injury in February, undergoing surgery."

I'm not going to ask was it a good move for Widnes to keep hold of him, the club hasn't seen the best of him due to a long term injury.

I think if Gilmore left it would cause bigger problems for a competitive team

Good of him to show loyalty but he's made a poor career decision.

@sinbad I disagree, he lives and owns a business in widnes and is coming to the end of his career in rugby so it makes total sense to stay with us as it’s part time and doesn’t have to drive to fev for training

Fev would let him go at the tip of a hat (not sure if that’s the complete wrong saying 🤣) when they get promoted. It’s the right choice for him I think
