Noted that Tim Sheens said on the Bye Round Podcast with James Graham (2nd part) that Widnes could not afford to go up.

I've said that a million times on this forum. If we fluked the play-offs there's no way we're in a position to go up anyway. Until we get significant investment, we're tied to the championship. How would we go about replacing OUR WHOLE SQUAD with one that could even get within 50 points of the other SL teams?

TBH, think we all have a gut feeling we have no money. TS stating the obvious, without some serious investment we will always be a club that flounders. Biggest concern atm, we could get relegated which would near finish us off

@gpo1971 - The biggest problem wouldn’t even be signing the players which in theory could be achieved using the sky money but that we would need to transition back to being a full time club. Impossible without serious investment in all likelihood.

There are already SL clubs who shouldn't be FT. Wakefield's CEO/GM has been outspoken about that.

Unless one of us wins the Euro Millions or someone local wants to use us to launder money, I can't see us going FT again.

Featherstone and Leigh have shown it is not beyond the realms of possibility but until the Widnesian Degsy turns up, it's about being a good Championship Team which we can't even manage now.
