i was there at 12.10 ? my watch must of been fast my appointment was 1.50
300 semi final tickets for Featherstone away available to purchase on the official Widnes website at their old, 9,850 capacity stadium. It’s embarrassing.
But how on earth is it embarrassing?
In their old 9850 capacity stadium, they can only let in 1670.
They obviously aren't confident of selling tickets to their own fans so are opening it to Widnes fans to.
In 24 hours they have only sold about 500 tickets for the semi.
Some people are just born to moan and rant about nothing.
It’s more arsing about than what it’s worth.
You don’t have to go if you don’t want to but to be put off by having to sit out in, hopefully, reasonable weather and get some fresh air ….
You can purchase a ticket for Fev but not for Widnes sums it all up.
How does it sum it up for you Mick ? To me it says that Widnes, be it by themselves or at the insistence of HBC, are taking an approach of (sensibly) erring on the side of caution whilst Featherstone seem to be ‘chasing the cash’. Putting health at risk for a couple of grand seems like a bad idea to me. Just saying.
Every club is following the government guidelines but we are making up rules as we go along now they want fans testing before the game. I s this even legal ? if someone refuses a test and they will not allow them entry then they will probably be breaking the law, sensible no, over cautious and rules put down by people who have not a clue what they are doing so they tighten the reins and make up their own rules as they go along, I hear they will not admit anyone without wearing cloves and an oxygen mask and must have a change of clothing before they exit the ground.

You don't have to take a test. Its just an opportunity to easily distribute the tests to a decent amount of people - that's all. Making much more out of it than it actually is

Where do the HBC actually say that you have to take a test, other than the “I heard ......” stuff on this forum ? Like the old saying goes ‘Don’t believe anything you read and only half of what you see’.
Very shabby treatment to exclude non-season ticket holders when capacity was nowhere near reached. I won't be bothering at all this season if this is how the club are going to treat fans, including VIQI members. Mick George is right, the erring on the side of caution is way over the top, and both club and Council need to be told it. Unrestricted fans have been attending sporting events in some US states for months with no adverse consequences, ditto for the huge marches against lockdown in London, despite predictions of doom. Man up, people. Anyway what is the vaccination supposed to be for? If you are still wetting yourself even after the jab there is no hope for you.
Don’t think it’s the club TBF but the council. The West stand was empty. Warrington have a similar size ground to ourselves but managed to open all 4 Stands we can only open 2. They could have easily opened each side of the South Stand to let more in. I know they use the concourses as changing rooms but if Warrington can sort it why can’t we?.

Whoever made the call it was it was a silly decision.
If the number permitted to attend was higher than the number of season ticket holders then the extra tickets should have been made to the general pubic and anybody buying a one-off ticket would need to provide their details either electronically or when purchasing a ticket in person
Even at a modest average of £10 per head, opening up for another 1,000 fans is worth £10k.
Not saying that we would have shifted another 1,000 tickets, but given the revenue lost by the council/club over the past 12 months or so, surely they should be looking to do whatever they can to make it possible.

Do you think by limiting the attendance the club are cunningly trying to increase the revenue from those watching online?
No, not at all. It's certainly not worth more to the club having people buy online.
Who’s to say the season ticket holders who went yesterday didn’t pass their details to friends and family so they could watch on Ourleague for free?

That could have been done - I still has access to the game even though i was attending. Warrington blocked season ticket holders who had a ticket (I know as my mate passed on his login details to me)
It costs about £1250 to have the game streamed before the club start to make revenue (Flash will confirm that figure, or not). That's 250 paying £4.99 before it makes any money. Would it really be worth all the effort, and hope that 500 fans buy it, to make £1250? Whereas 62 non-ST holders paying £20 at the gate, would generate the same amount.

Yeah that's right. Some clubs have been streaming via their own platform (Keighley as one), as they see it as more cost effective.
There's no real financial model in streaming unless you know you're going to pick up hundreds of people that wouldn't otherwise have bought a ticket to go the game.
