The Chris Hamilton era

This bloke came in for some stick, but the facts are:

- sacked John Kear and got Neil Belshaw in who steadied the ship and even had us in with a shout of the play offs until the penultimate weekend of the season

- recruited a permanent coach who seems to be extremely popular with fans and players alike who is delivering reaults

- signed some good players, Langtree, Kirk and Lloyd have been fantastic certainly better than some bigger name signings of recent years.

is it time to give the man some credit?

Alloys? Lets hope the wheels stay on then.

Sorry Widiot, cheap shot. It is still early days yet, and the club has been through so much that we could understand a lack of endorsement. However, it does seem that on the field and off it things are improving.

For some though, they'll have to keep doing so for a long time yet, which you would have to respect.

Personally, I am just enjoying going to a game and not thinking "is this were we collapse and give up?", which tells me that we have come on significantly from the last few seasons.

The social media output seems to be more concise certainly of a matchday so seems they are making small steps off the field too.credit where credits due!

Someone in authority has obviously told him to shut his mouth and work in the background, as all administrators should do.

After than outburst saying he hates rugby league didn't help his cause. Actions speak louder than words, so I am glad he has shut his mouth and his big ego. I think everyone has forgot about him because people have enjoyed the rugby and results. 💪👍 Fingers crossed this carries on and the coach Alan Coleman has done well. Getting some big props has helped win the muscle in the pack, and not to be bullied.

Exactly that. Now if he could just stop "c*ck watching" around the changing rooms on matchdays I think the lads could be more at ease again.

(players words, not mine)

@ratboy,  following Chris on LinkedIn he posts every week either hating or loving,  he did it for years at Oldham and is actually a good read.

I took it as I always do as him being him.

Think he is doing a good job and the results say alot and the Academy, back room appointments and events say alot.

Let's hope we continue and hope everyone gets behind him.

Fair one mate it is a results business and at the moment doing a decent job. I am always wanting the best for my club and hopefully it continues. I have written off the Wakefield games to lose, but overall if we are competing and effort there I can't complain. Over the years I feel like we had a holiday camp at the club. 👍

@ratboy couldn't have put it better 👏

Anything from Wakefield games would be a bonus.

I recall that the justified criticism of Hamilton followed his antics after the Swinton result, with nonsensical on-line comments and threats against fans. Added to this were the rumours about the way former players were treated; the "average/cheap" replacements from Swinton and Brooks from Barrow; poor communication with fans; and the fiasco with the "season long loans" of three players that failed to materialise. Butt, Lloyd and Gregson seem to have settled in, but still have their critics. I don't recall much criticism of the signing of much needed props in Reilly (despite being injured before he played a game), Langtree, Kirk and Murray. I guess the recent league performances have silenced critics, but has the communication between the Club and fans improved and what will be the impact of a run of injuries to our key players or loss of form? Where are the replacements ging to come from?

The team has probably exceeded most fans' expectations with five wins out if six and not outplayed in the narrow defeat by Featherstone. The defeat by Swinton in the 1895 Cup looks better in hindsight with some of their subsequent league results. Credit must be given to Coleman for the improvements in performance this season.

Hopefully, this form will continue. The test may come if we have to cope with more injuries of some of the key players in the forwards and Gilmore.

Just a thought, but if we finish in a play-off position and win the play-off, no matter how unlikely, I guess we will still be in the Championship in 2025.

The IMG gradings have had an impact this year with Hull and Toulouse being seemingly guaranteed a SL place and can coast this year, with a view to re-building for 2025; and Featherstone's SL dream fading. I still think that it would be a backward step to deny a team winning the Championship play-offs promotion - almost certainly Wakefield this year - to SL and perhaps granting promotion to a team that may not finish in a play-off position ie Toulouse.

I wonder what plans the Club has to achieve an A grading in the long-term and improve the B grading in the short-term

Wakey have just announced Mike McMeeken for next season so, maybe they're confident they're going up regardless.

@gpo1971 based on this year's rankings they're guaranteed a place in SL next year. I'm not sure when, if at all, a refactoring of the grades is scheduled to happen though.

Hamilton is a paid administrator, not an owner, and as such shouldn't go anywhere near the dressing room or dug-outs on a match day.

That's the job of the coaching and ancillary staff.
