Both of our wingers should have shared man of the match for their speed, skill and taking the ball into the opposition forwards too.
I thought it was close between the two wingers and Shane Grady at the time when Millar was announced. But I think the hat-trick try definitely swung it in his favour.
I didn't think it was close, Millar clear man of the match. Only thing I saw him do wrong was the offload in our 20 which resulted in a knock on and putting us under pressure, but that aside he had a strong game and could be invaluable for us this year. Always looking to come in and put the graft in as well, looks every bit a good player.
Think our chalked off try was for crossing ?
It was. Correct decision too
@ditton-donkey
One was for crossing and one was for a forward pass - the only one of the afternoon penalised!

I thought his award had been announced over the tannoy before he scored his third try.
Big plus for me was Hatton off the bench who looks to have gone under the radar. Really commits to his carries and eats up the yards, a very astute signing. Would have him up there for contention for MOTM but no complaints with Millar, 2 classy wingers, who in the modern game do the donkey work to get you away from your line, keep them fit and we could be for an exciting season. Edge & Flemming look solid in the centres too.
Get 35/40 minutes out of Walker but as long as he keeps carrying as he is, committing 3-4 defenders every time, he'll go very well. Thought Amor started off okay/slow but really put a graft in, when he came on for the second half. Add Lawton, Farnworth and JJ to that pack and spell fozzard, i fancy us to get the play offs although there's a LONGGGG way to go before we can provide substance for that
Any idea on attendance, did not hear it announced. Also have I gone mad or did we play our away game in home shirts and home game in away ?
if it works …
last season we did not use the green shirts for the first away games either
@ditton-donkey I saw the 4th official bring both widnes home shirt and Keighley shirt to the ref during the warm up. My guess is that the ref decided they were too similar. Also I bet Keighley only brought one kit with them.
@ditton-donkey
Just under 3,500.
Think both of Keighley’s kits feature white, so we had to change. Why it was only flagged up during the warm up I’ll never know.

Thanks people that’s great
Another part of Walker's repertoire is being a regular penalty magnet. I mean opposing sides get penalised when trying to bring the Widnes tank down. I think he got a pen awarded with his first carry on Sunday. Lawton's the same but then he also gives pens away...
@sunny - That’s what I was saying or attempting to say. Maybe I didn’t express it very well. But I thought it was close when they announced it and then he scored again.
Fairly good crowd but Featherstone bettered it by 300 which surprised me.Not many Halifax fans attended either.ATT 3,489
