What’s the thoughts then people ?
is Fleming injured as AC said - if so why name in the squad ?
better with Roby and edge in centres, Lloyd back to back row

I cannot see Coleman lying about this. I think with Tilleke retiring we are down to 23 in the squad plus the Leigh lad on loan. So it is possible he has had to name Fleming to make up the 21 even if not fit. Alternatively Fleming has recovered more quickly than at first thought.

Personally I like Lloyd in the centre position as he appears to be able to break the line more & defends strongly but with Langtree out perhaps Lloyd will be needed back in the pack.

Naming Fleming in the squad is most likely just to make the 21 up. With the five injured according to the update (Gregson, Fleming, Langtree, Brookes and Reilly) and Tilleke leaving that takes a squad of 25 down to 19, add in Nisbet and that makes 20, hence having to name an injured player in the squad.

Recent selections would indicate it'll be Owens, Butt, Lloyd, Edge, Ince, Lyons, Gilmore, Kirk, Johnstone, Murphy, Wilde, Bent, Field with Roberts, Fozard, Brooks and Walker on the bench. Probably Dixon making 18th. Nisbet and Roby missing out.

As you said, I would like to see Lloyd back in the pack, with Roberts in the centres. It would be good to see Dixon back, but who would you drop?

Doncaster have named their new signing Faramio in the squad, and Pauli Pauli who missed out against us last time. They are going to try and batter us down the middle, Johnston (Stand Off) is missing but Connor Robinson is a dangerous player behind such a pack.

We started off brilliantly at Bradford then started dropping down the gears, I hope we have learnt from that and keep turning Doncaster inside out.

Actually, looks like Johnston passed his head assessment, so he may play, sorry I got that wrong.

Have Doncaster got many injuries or missing a few dual players? It seems some of the small clubs rely on dual. If not their they are a poor side.

@pascal Wonder how these smaller clubs than ours manage to afford all these loan/dual reg players, and we struggle to get any.
I believe that you have to pay the players club his normal wages, while he’s on loan

@farnworth-viking

think payment is down to each deal - the loan club pay some proportion of the loaners wages, not the lot

Good win for a “okay” performance. Believe we would’ve won by more if the Ref actually had control of them game! Ah well nice to win… again

I think the lads are allowed a bit of a lacklustre performance after last weeks effort. However does feel like we got away with one a bit!

2 points is 2 points and a week off to rest and recover

@scouseviking55 totally agree doesn’t matter how you play aslong as you win! Great to see the crowd vocal again, even if it was shouting at the ref 😉😂

I hate complaining about referees but it seems like it's a constant theme the Doncaster team constant niggling and going down with injuries slowed the game down to a walking pace which there aging team wanted when we got ten mins of quick play the balls we made chances !! Still think we need a stand off and a centre to give us more thrust but the coach and the team keep battling and deserve great credit it's nice to say that

Enjoyable game watched by just over 2,900.

It was always going to be a close game, Doncaster have some big, talented but older players.

Our coach has instilled a great team spirit and everyone played their part today.

Fleming and Rhodri were very good, however Jack doesn't deserve an automatic place. IMHO he has lost his edge and the sooner Dixon returns the better.

A win's a win...

Donny had a bigger team and slowed us down a lot. This meant that we couldn't really get the attacking rugby we have seen at times going.

Defence deserves credit for just 2 tries conceded. If we could add a couple of extra players like we have done in previous Championship years (e.g. Moran, Hall, Penny etc, we could be in for a Top 4 push.
