Brierley to the 'Yeds. The Knights have already signed Vaughan from Wire for next term, and it looks like Regan Grace is (re)switching codes, and joining him in the Minster city, so.................

Do these clubs already know they're in the new fourteen team SL, even though nowt's been officially announced?

I've mentioned previously in this thread that I reckon York will get the nod to dine at the top table, but......

Brierley is (in my opinion) too good a player to be plying his talents with tier two football, so.....

Will BP be welcoming the likes of Pies, the Robins, and FC in 2026?

Sure I read 1 of the journo's (Shaw maybe) posting that Salford didn't have coach travel sorted as they owe a company thousands, and that their kit was stuck in a laundrette for the same reason.

Not sure how true it is, but sounds like Salford will not only be getting relegated, but might go bust completely which may alter the structure slightly yet again.

1) I read that too mate.

2) If that transpires, it'd leave twenty clubs below SL, so...........

One regionalised division with ten teams in each, meaning an eighteen (league) games season?  But.....

WTF will we know summat concrete as to what's happening next term and onwards?

It's looking likely that Salford won't exist soon so that's 3 teams to go up. Got to be Oldham and York the way they're recruiting, Bradford as well probably. Not sure what happens if Toulouse throw a spanner in the works and win the Championship. But if I was a betting man, it would be the former 3.

It's also looking like SL's plan is to cut the Championship adrift. The comments about 'leaving the championship with a settled structure' sounds like a cut-and-run.

It's only my opinion / prediction (and I've been wrong many times before) but I just can't see Olympique missing out on being in SL next term, to replace the Pinks, which'd.................

Leave any two from three of the Knights, 'Yeds, and Bulls joining 'em to make up the new format of fourteen.

Who'll miss out?

Interesting times await!

If Oldham get in it’s even more ridiculous than it sounds

It's already ridiculous even the sky presenters are perplexed, they like everybody else are asking why there is a different selection system for the two extra teams. No other sport would allow this.

We all know this is the usual garbage from the RFL -  not fit to manage a crèche

salfraud out and maybe gone , Toulouse, York and …..

meanwhile in the real RL world we will be left fundless (or maybe £50K)

and 20 teams at best

so

1 division, play each other once and the

n play half of the teams again - tough for some, easier for others

maybe breakaway and get axTV deal ?

Baffles me they're even in the conversation. 15 of the last 20 years in the third tier, and have only been back in Championship this season.

Because in this sport anything can happen whether it makes sense or not. When you've had the likes of Toronto,Crusaders and PSG in SL then Oldham isn't that far fetched.

Does anyone know if there us a limit on the amount of loan signings a team can have ?. I am sure there once was a limit, this Salford saga has got to stop for the good of the game. It should be immediate expulsion and playing results deleted, enough is now enough.

@prisoner I believe it is 5 but Salford have been given special dispensation this week and have 9 in their squad don’t they?

The whole situation is farcical and has been since week 1

@jdgsport Because the super duper league has become a millionaire's private Club and someone is backing Oldham.

And if they do what was hinted (not giving anything to the non-SL clubs) the game is dead other than as a semi pro game.

Looking at funding when we are told that virtually all SL clubs are around £1m in the red each year that means that a £14m increase in Sky money would just leave the game standing still.

Getting no increase in Sky money would break the game but, looking at other sporting attractions booming, Sky have many more options than previously.

The alternative to not allowing Salford extra loan players would embarrass the game even further. If that's possible.
