A good pre season has made a big difference according to his recent interview. Though I also think the abandonment of trying to make him into a prop has helped a lot!

He has run his blood to water in the last few years, today we did not use him wisely

It might have been his job not helping him in the last couple of years, he wasn’t always available, or sometimes worked a night shift, then went straight to the club to get the coach to the match.
I don’t know if he’s changed his job, but not heard any of those stories this season, and he’s playing a lot better.
