Bradford have the Chairman of the RFL which will be the decisive factor in my opinion.

In a way, if Bradford, York and Toulouse go up, it wouldn't bother me as much because they were the Top 3. If we had finished in the Top 3 or 4 then I think it would have been far more difficult to leave us out....

@sandgroper Zero chance of Widnes being in SL next year.

@d-day

My worry is any cash for Championship clubs!!!! SL is in a very hazardous position atm and totally rests on the Sky deal !

The championship clubs are pretty well on their own in reality. The RFL might be glad of a partnership with the NRL yet!!!

We are not SL as Vikings Voice is the Monday after the announcement so will probably giving reasons for exclusion. Will be interesting to hear what the brown envelope panel based the selections on.

We have been in this position twice before, once gutted when Crusaders were selected ahead of us in 2008 and then the joy and celebrations in the stadium social club at being selected in 2011.

Now we are on the eve of another announcement, this time not one but three teams being given the nod and not one person in Widnes is even one bit excited. It's 3 from Bradford, York, Toulouse and London going up and everyone knows it 😞

Yeah we all knew before the bid application mate. Glad we have signed up part time players and hopefully a few big forwards to compete in the top 3.

I wouldn't be unhappy if we were able to re-sign Mellor, a decent squad player with plenty of SL experience capable of playing at SO, SH or Hooker. And presumably not too expensive.

@sunny I would of said potentially if we hadn't signed Abdull. But we have 3 half backs and 2 hookers.

Williams and Lloyd need replacing on the wing and 2nd row. We also only have 2 props, that's the real concern and we seem to be saying the same thing every year. 2 props, a 2nd row and a winger takes us to 25.

If we keep saying the same thing every year the board and Alan Coleman need to read this forum. It is blatantly obvious the fans want some big props packing a punch up the middle. Well i think this an important question at the fans forum tomorrow night? If results and the dual/loans do not work then Alan Coleman has the job on the line, because it is his responsibility to recruit well. This year no excuses top 3 a priority as shows on the pitch does help on promotion and it should do to be honest.

Could be interesting to see what happens now that the promotions are out.

Just how much will be available for big SL squads?

@vikingfox71

Hardly a great loss tbh, could a safety signing for the Bulls, not the speedy half that he once was.

The wheeling and  dealing around the newly promoted clubs may throw us some options.

We're a mid table championship team, he'd walk into our team
