@scouseviking55 seen him a few times live over the years and I'd say he's a weapon grade pudding and that's putting it mildly ...big lump that moves like a big lump that can't move 😂
Just heard a rumour that we are seriously looking at an Aussie prop playing in a french league.
Props are available, Oldham have just signed 2. Waine from Bradford and Makin on a season long loan from Wigan. I guess money talks though and for now Oldham have plenty.
@dan1 it's the Widnes way .... identify where you have weaknesses... completely ignore them ..sign 37 back rowers (slight exaggeration I know) ..some on two yr deals even tho there shoulder will explode as soon as someone farts near it ...play gregson.
Front Row - Murray, Chapplehow, Bibby
Back Row - Langtree, Wilde, Lawton, Robertson, Mcquirter, Hall, Gregson, Bent.
In a 17 you usually go for 4 props and 3 back rowers. So we have 3 props for 4 slots and then 8 back rowers for 3 slots.
In simple terms that rectuitment strategy doesnt make any sense to me. In the last 6 years its been proven by us time again that playing smaller back rowers at prop on anything other than a short term emergency basis doesnt work against the sides with big packs.
Sorry 8 back rowers for 4 slots, 3 starting including loose forward and one on the bench.
With best will in the world he is unlikely to finish the season or at least sit a chunk of it out.Of course nobody wishes injury on anyone but previous shoulder injuries and playing professional rugby aged 36 don't go well together.some on two year deals even though their shoulder will explode as soon as someone farts near it
Understand that - a one year deal ,or 2 based on appearances
but when he is fit he is the first name on the team sheet
