@scouseviking55 happy we have signed someone in that position although I have never seen him play. Looks like Butt and Ince to start the season with Connell trying to get an opportunity. What i will say is if we do get an injury then play him as he's our player. Dont bring a SL reserve player in on loan ahead of him. If we sign these young lads then we have to give them a chance.

24 players now, a prop and a 2nd row or 2 props to finish off the squad for me. Also good to see some younger players in the squad in Bibby, Connell and Taylor.

Injuries are very difficult to cope with and impossible to predict. With ACL s and such they see a player out for months but to carry a first team level player and not to play him is very costly.

Anyway, still waiting for our prop!!!

Spoke to a now ex Salford staffer.... apparently he was very highly rated within Salford .. best position is FB and while he did extremely well in bad times  he's not a natural winger ..so looks like he'll possibly be adding competition to maizen aswel as Ince/butt at winger . just hope now the final two incomings are a prop and utility of decent quality ...good to see that we've not coated the squad with "projects" and actually brought in two young players in Connell and Taylor that are match ready and very well spoken about by players/coaches within the game....plz Widnes let these last two signings be players that get the fanbase excited 🙏

@cumbria-viking

At least it should mean that players don't have to carry knocks or minor injuries into games when there are fit support players.

@sandgroper agree mate...while could do with one more in the front row there seems to be good depth and versatility in the squad...

Much better squad depth so far, which should allow us to rotate players and pick on form, hopefully with less reliance on loans.

I am much happier with the squad this year, especially with players living closer to Widnes. The DR was ridiculous and did not work with Warrington and the loan players did a great job in Roberts and Bennison. Kirk and Rambo let us down in the end, but not as bad as Ryan Lannon who decided to not turn up for training. A big prop and utility Centre/back rower would top things off for me. Now lets dream and get them Middle East fellas investing into Widnes. 🤣 😎 👍
