Come October onwards when the Season Tickets are released for sale, why do you buy them?
A. You always do, as you are a fan of the Club.
B. It's better value than paying on a Matchday.
C. A Christmas present for family/friends
D. The Early Bird offer gets you into the match even cheaper than Option B.
I'll give you an option E....
Because of the recruitment.

A better question would be why don't you buy a season ticket anymore. Then the reasons why could be addressed.Come October onwards when the Season Tickets are released for sale, why do you buy them?

Option A for me, had one for about 60 years.

Sorry @Prisoner, there is no edit option available so option F is off the table, mate.
I'd like to think you don't buy anymore because, due to other commitments (shifts/ family issues/your health) etc, rather than you don't like RL anymore, and have chosen to do other things on your weekends? That would be a shame.

50 years for me but stopped getting one 2 years ago, that's why I asked for other options that could be looked at by the club as too why so many are not renewing and have stopped attending. My situation is that even though I could never attend every game I always purchased a season ticket but now I just choose games. It's not the cost or not seeing every game it's not knowing what you are paying for before you buy one and the lack of communication from the club. I live in the town and will see as many away games as home games.Option A for me, had one for about 60 years.
It’s a good way to spend time with family and think about family who used to go. Sheer habit. Love for the club. To contribute financially to the club. Not because I think we will win any cups or even really because I enjoy watching the rugby on display anymore!
All of them I suppose. Been going since my first match in about 58 (think it was 10-5 against Wire) and had a season ticket for years and years, eventually took my sons and now Christmas presents and Sundays out with my grandsons in the North stand. To be honest im getting tired of watching dull uninteresting rugby and people saying "next season" don't seem to have appetite for it but grandsons love it so.....I still go👍👍
It is A for me I have supported Widnes by attending games every season since 1958 when I was 8. My father originally paid for my season tickets & as he & his father had supported Widnes so I was introduced to the game. I attended Simmscross Junior School where RL was very strong & you had a rugby ball in your hands in your early years. So it was a natural progression for me to support the club. So I have loved the game & supported my team throughout my life ever since & will continue to do so.
It seems this forum has the same ageing fan base.
"A" for me too. Only had a season ticket since I retired but my first match was almost 55 years ago, in September 1970 versus Rochdale.
Can't remember the result but do remember the corrugated iron smelly gents!

I think this is a good point and why I'm always banging the drum (or trying) about things like the player pool, fixtures etc. The club needs to care more about the various facets of what brings people to games. Not just "it's £24, come on, we need your support" which is what it generally feels like.
There will probably be decent take up on the £10 live stream because people can take that up after seeing the team news, and pick and choose the games! It's just it costs the club a £24 (scandalous pricing) ticket sale that maybe it would have previously got...

For me it is A, but my dad pays for my son's ticket so it's also a bit of C. It's the one thing that the three of us do together.
I do think there is a convenience aspect to it too. I like knowing it is paid for in advance and sitting in the South Stand it's good knowing that I can just rock up to the stadium a minute or two before the match and know that I can sit in my own seat.
Last year I really enjoyed the rugby and looked forward to going to the match (for the first time in a while really) and was full of optimism about this year which has taken a bit of a knock but I'm still enjoying going.
Well to be fair, it was a loaded question.
Not many takers for Option E. So when buying your ST you do it regardless of who is wearing the shirt. Yet many seem to be whinging about players being let go. We still manage to put 17 players out each week, which fulfills most fans selection of A B C & D. Obviously non-ST holders may have a different view, but they also have no season long commitment, and can find it easier to stay away.
Any thoughts?

Probably habit, more in the hope we get back to the glory days than anything else. Havent always had a season ticket but since 2019 have had one every season, by buying a season ticket it guarantees funds to the club.
