@steve like I said earlier in this thread I hope the players turn it around and start getting results and play to their potential to earn a new contract m, I don’t have any I’ll feeling to any of the staff/players. I would love for us to go on a winning streak and make the playoffs. I’m just sick off the constant underwhelming signings and poor performances season after season. It’s semi professional rugby league so if by chance the players/families did read this they are tough lads. I haven’t seen one comment on here talking about a player’s integrity or personality
In any professional sport or getting paid to play for a club critism will happen. If you are good enough then you will stay at the club, and for me there is no sentiment in sport, My mate takes his girl to the games, and now bored on her phone because nothing to cheer about. The spiral down the ladder continues with kids and adults not going the games, and that means less money in the pot to buy better players. If players are looking at this forum and bothers them, then they are in the wrong job. It should give them determination to work harder, unite as a team and start winning games.
I hope the players do read this as they deserve all the criticism going. They are now playing for a contract and rightly so none of them are safe contract or not.
Doro is the only player worth keeping as he has put effort and pride into each game, as for our already contracted players the blame lies with the man who gave them out.
I would guess that Kear will come in with an open mind on the abilities and potential of individual players and the coaching staff in place.
He will no doubt be looking at previous games and getting the views of players, coaches and the club’s Directors and Managers. He may also be speaking to other people he knows in the game and seek out the fans’ perspective. Having said that if he reads this forum, he must now know that Phil Finney actually runs the Club from top to bottom and will tell him which players he can release and sign; the team selection; and game tactics. Actually, does he know that he is just a frontman, with no power at all, and only has to turn up and games to make it look like he is doing something and take the blame if it all goes wrong?
i suspect that even if he does look at this or any other similar forum, he will have a wry smile at some of the more personal comments and opinions; and decide to make up his own mind about individual players.
I would hope that he can get the best out of the players in the remaining matches this season and will probably retain most of them, if they show some form in the remaining games. You never know, he might also be able to encourage a few better players to leave Yorkshire for Widnes next season.

Kear has already stated we lack quality players so that's a great start, let the mass migration begin.
I am not sure how you would define a quality player, but Kear has already said that we have some good players and he was excited at plans for next year. The supposed signing of Amor for next year may be a quality signing. Hopefully, we can bring in more “quality” signings for next year, but we will not be competing with Leigh in bringing in NRL players on part-time contracts.
Whether the majority of the current squad will be jettisoned will depend on how they perform in the remaining games; and whether there are better players available to replace them. Kear may see some potential, as Sheens did with Baker despite his arrival from a League 1 club.
Let’s hope that whatever happens, we have a squad next year with a genuine chance of challenging for a play-off place at least and not be scrambling at the bottom, fighting to hang on to a position in whatever re-structured league is introduced.
We just have to trust, Kear and the coaching team, the Directors and the CEO to get it right.
It is a decent start with the appointment of an experienced coach in John Kear. My immediate priorities would be to bring in a couple of hard running props and a creative half-back.
These things will always be discussed online but it's nothing personal.Players are commodities at a club.
