Isn't that just what the present Board did? A consortium of fans getting together and buying the club? And who suggested the current board want to sell?
Don't forget, the more fans there are in this proposed consortium means rather a lot of Board members...all with slightly differing views and experiences, not an effective way to run the club. A board with a large number of inexperienced Directors would just squabble.
A CEO type experienced rugby person would be needed to actually run the club, to renew confidence in prospective admin / coaching etc new employees in addition to improving the playing roster, to create an atmosphere whereby people want to come and work for / play for Widnes.
Hamilton is not that person.

Buy the Club? What is there to buy? We are like the Baa Baa's , a wicker basket of kit. We don't own the stadium, we are just a liability, you'd be just doling out the funding from the RFL and any bit of coin made from ticket sales after the rent is paid. The VIQI money runs out this year, and the new VIPS scheme brings in nothing in comparison to VIQI.
Unless somebody with deep pockets, who wants a hobby to spend their money on, then we are on a downward spiral, as are most Clubs.

That’s true. I’ve said it for a couple of years now. Widnes are just another Swinton, Barrow, etc.
Some people don’t believe it, but I think most people are coming round to it now. It’s not the end of the world, but you at least want to be entertained when you go to watch.

I am with you too. Swinton get 800 fans and ours near 3000. Just need to buy correctly and a decent coach. 🙈 How can we be a Swinton or a Barrow it is bad management is why we in this position. 🥖🥖
