I know Lawton is preferred in second row as his attack out wide is more effective but I can see him playing prop next season unless we sign another prop.

We don’t have a backup hooker but may bring in another backup player on loan as needed.

looking at the squad how do you feel we will compete next season

Would have thought another 2-3 players to come in yet.

The stupid rumoured fixture list aside, London should be 1st, then we should be in the mix amongst the next 4-5 places. Anything less would be a disappointment.

Surely JJ and fozzy are both hookers so no back up required, and as I recall joey played there at least once

we need another prop - hopefully that player from fev and maybe another back rower but apart from that I think we are done

@7-vikingnomad that’s what I mean, if jj or foz picks up an injury we don’t have another specialist hooker to fill in, yes Lyons could be utilized if needed but I think AC would try and find a loan hooker.

next season is going to be tough with London, Sheffield and Oldham signing well and spending big

if we don’t make the top four we could find ourselves adrift from the potential teams looking at the step up.

it’s going to be interesting to see how Salford rebuild after being relegated

I am not worried about hooker as Lyons 3rd choice, but I feel he will get a loan player if an injury crisis. One more prop, then a utility centre/backrower. Overall happy with the squad and having continuity will help our team. London,Sheffield and Oldham are spending, and they have to gel as a team too.Until we get the Middle East backers, then i feel we then go to the next level. This squad slightly better than last season and i rather stay in budget. 3rd or 4th in the league is definitely achievable, and to compete more there needs to be more WVIPs members, and also collate as a team of fans to be successful.

Yeah about correct mate, but prefer Lawton backrower.

The hooker smith is leaving barrow and he’s a st Helens lad he could be an option if the price is right to have as a backup option

@begg

I wouldn't count Whirter or Lawton as props thb.

Hopefully at least another prop to come.

Lawton/Wilde running of a stand off that has to be tackled would be good to watch!
