The game, our game, is being filleted for the ready money pirates. As a sport for the working man its days are numbered.

The problem has been caused by the lack of any planning by the RFL. Decisions seem to be made on the back of a fag packet by a few individuals, with no thought to the consequences or impact on others.

They allowed the Salford situation to continue throughout last season by simply turning a blind eye. There was a last minute decision to increase the size of SL. They then realised that would have an impact on the Championship/League 1 and come up with a 21 team league, with no idea of how to structure the fixtures.

Having got the fag packet out again, they have produced a fixture list that pleases nobody, with no idea how the ten team play-off will work. Do Clubs in the Championship have any idea what central funding to expect next year, let alone for five years so that they can plan ahead?

I despair for the game that I have supported all my life. A game run by clowns and they wonder why it has become a circus and a joke.

As an aside, I am looking forward to the games against London and Oldham, These games will show what level we are at in the Championship.

Well, the RFL have excelled themselves in fixing promotion for London next year. Incidently, I wonder if Bradford would have got into SL if the change had been made this year?

Promtion and relegation will not be by way of winning the league or the play-off, but through a changed IMG grading system.

The IMG rules have been "tweeked" to place emphasis on season's results and current financial standing, rather than over the previous three years. The placement criteria that compared your crowds with the local catchment area, has been removed.

All of which has basically handed promotion to London. They might as well announce it now.

@frankg

not seen any of this yet, but assume it was approved by clubs (SL of course)

do not understand what the SL clubs think they will gain by including London in their ranks really

also who goes down ?
probably shuddersfield

An absolute crunchie show as per the dire RFL/SL hierarchy. But are we surprised? Sadly no. I will always turn up to support whoever we have to play but it does make you wonder why we’re going round this stupid piss take of a merry go round once again. Up the Vikings!

Oh dear, that will cause even more problems for the RFL hierarchy when they try to sort out the fixtures.

Featherstone have gone bust because of serious financial problems despite the efforts of the much missed (not) Chris Hamilton.

I have my season ticket and aim to enjoy our games (whichever ones actually happen) accompanied by a few pints in the Bowler.

However, on an ambition level, I'm fully expecting a completely meaningless 2026 campaign. And then London get promoted.

Well this has been out there for a while - the football team have moved away so their income stream has shrunk, and the on costs keep going

i hope they can continue, but they and salfraud should start on minus 6 points like we and bradfraud had to do

i wonder whether Halifax May be following ?

I seem to recall Lord Lucan, the Featherstone supporter, coming on here proclaiming that one of the reasons Fev could spend so much was because they owned their ground and any income went into their bank account. just wondering if it became a millstone round their necks in the end?

The real issue is that IMG have just gave them a decent grading which was above ours, this shows without doubt that the grading system is laughable. Without doubt the sport is corrupt we all know this but nothing gets done about it. Grading teams on social media rating is fudging madness and breeds corruption no other sport would allow this to happen and until the teams grow a pair and contest this then there is no point for us fans to watch the game. The RFL board are not fit for purpose and not only need removing they need jailing.

Yes agree - just look at salfraud grading which got them into SL and even before Christmas they wanted their share of the dosh in advance !
unbelievable that it was allowed to happen
