Newcastle squad

Well, I hope we do better than we did last time we had a week off.

I am confident of a win, but still not convinced of our pack. Doro and Tilleke both have plenty of enthusiasm and potential, but for all their work, do not make many metres, but I think this is because a second wave of attack   is missing and this is possibly due to our best ball playing forwards , such as Baker having to fill in as props.

For all our off season business, we still have a lightweight pack with players out of position, but when we have a full squad available, we should be able to give most Championship teams a challenge.

Dupree will be a big loss tonight, but I think we should have enough to come out winners.

I would start with Roby at full back, he has been playing really well there in Owens absence, and play Owns at stand off. Then we could have Hulme on the bench to give fozzard a rest.

Pascal is with you on this one and like to see Owens at halfback. Seen him play here before and did a decent job. 👍🥖🥖

No reason why that team shouldn’t be winning tonight.

Although, it’s looks like Finnigan doesn’t know his best back line. Changes all the time. If picking on form, Tyrer shouldn’t be playing. Barrow and York were his worst matches in a Widnes shirt.

No sub hooker again.

Agree it is a team capable on paper of winning, hopefully be the case.

Suspect addy will be interchange at 9 depending on whether fozzard is targeted again

spedding on wing could be good, reckon Fleming deserves his place in the centres - he has been great there, not sure having Roby on bench will help, would have preferred bent

That’s a decent side, if it isn’t capable of beating Newcastle then I’d have little confidence of making the top six.

Listening to the game on Merseyside, Owens is having a shocker in the first 20 minutes, also.

@scouseviking55 Owens seems to be having a mare again. Skipper or not Roby should be brought on for him. Since he has been club captain his form has tanked.

We’ve created very little and made too many errors. Some strong goal line defence has kept us in the game. Hopefully we can break them down second half. Maybe Lawton will come off the bench and barge over.

Jack and Tyrer having really bad games - Roby on for Jack, Fleming back to centre, Lyons on wing and fozzard to stand off , addy to hooker, bring the match winner lawton on

doro yellow card - really ? It was both of them at it

still can win this, but interesting to see their kicking game
