Not seen anything about anyone signing Mitch Clarke from Newcastle. Should give him a go he’s a big aggressive forward good off the bench

Oliver brooks next one to be announced, deffo not bashing the kid but how is he gonna increase season ticket sales or make people actually excited for the new season? Solid squad player that’s about it…

Think it’s incomprehensible that the club are still teasing retentions despite announcing weeks ago who was leaving the club. Every single Widnes fan knows who’s staying next season.

Pre Seasons is weeks away, season tickets are on sale and they have still only announced a couple of new signings. I can’t believe they can’t see how it looks.

The whole thing just saddens me.

Do we have a squad night soon? Need a few more forwards and a number 6.

Looking at Oldham's recruitment they are preparing to be playing in a one division league below Super League next year

the way that they’ve announced these signings I wouldn’t be surprised if joe Lyons had an open top bus parade around Widnes for his new contract 😂

What's the chances Oldham finish higher than Widnes in a merged division ? That would be ironic.

ok next year all their signings will be a year nearer to retirement and would struggle to make mid table in a single division if that occurs.

if we have to go to 2 divisions, which is seemingly more likely we have turned full circle - just found a 1988 copy of open rugby, eye opening 2416 attendance at Doncaster !

we don’t know our squad yet- late as it maybe

What is important however is to see our WVIP support grow and quickly. If we are struggling now when we have some of the VIQI money to lean on we will need the replacement to be up and running asap.

Money promised now by a joining member will only be usable after it is donated!!!!!

The Board need to show more faith in their supporters.

OK some, may be many, will moan, that is the Widnes Way!

But if they aren't told the whole story they don't know what the Board's problems are and that promotes unrest and caution when asked to contribute.

Never going to happen. The VIQI days are gone forever. It's a different financial climate in the UK at the present, to ask fans to fork out £220 for a ST and expect them to pay, say £10 a month, equates to a ST costing you £340.

Things are different but it is for the supporters themselves to make the decision as to whether they support WVIPS or not.

There are some who are absolutely down on their uppers, and my sympathy is with them absolutely.

But there are also many supporters who have a few bob to spare. The minimum membership is £5 per month, or more simply put £1 per week or 20 pence per working day.

That for the vast majority is do-able, given the will.

VIQI never had  100% of the crowd on board and I doubt that WVIP will improve on that.

The point of my post was to encourage the club to make the situation clear to all of us. As things stand we are all in the dark as to what the club plan for progress is.

The problem at the moment is the distinct lack of enthusiasm from the club as far as making people want to either return to watching the team or for fans to renew their season pass. The new signings which maybe end up being great once a ball has been kicked are not what you'd call 'exciting' plus we have recruited a coach who is really an unknown quantity.Hopefully with the change of kit company the club will attempt some sort of rebrand to generate some sort of 'excitement' but i fear that won't be the case,As things stand i will not be renewing my season pass.
