New head coach

I wasn't a fan of Coleman before he came here.  I said at the time we signed him that Littler was notably a better coach.  He's a bloke that has come from the amateur game and it shows at this level.

In my opinion, Hamilton is destroying Widnes. I don't believe it is coincidental that the rot started last year when he arrived.

We didn't sign anyone after Evans and Amor left last year which left us short of players when we picked up injuries. For me that was the key factor that lead to our mid-season slump. The squad this year is notably worse than last year.

With the expected reduction of the Championship to 12 teams next year there could be four teams heading to league 1 and we're at a very serious risk of being one of them.

Kilshaw will be pleased with that having applied for the Widnes job a couple of times previously. At least he has some pedigree at pro level.I fear for the attendances once the rot sets in.With only 1100 season ticket holders there's no chance of many paying on the day.

I'm hopeful that this is all part of building up to being absolutely at it for the first league match in March.

In reality, I fear it is the standard we can expect.

Don't really blame Coleman yet, if you got the chance in his position to take the Widnes job you would jump at it!

The rot set in well before last year. That's why it's so disheartening. Every sport & sports organisation goes through peaks and troughs. But this is diabolical with no light at the end of the tunnel.

@viking25 I'm sorry Lyons is not good enough full stop moving him to full back creates another problem!! He's not a running fullback not enough pace and game reading and passing not good enough we need a stand off quickly before it's too late

Leon Hayes from wire will be here on dual reg but think he will spend more at wire especially if they get an injury at HB.

It will never happen nor does it deserve to happen based on how he was treated for doing the best job anyone has done at Widnes in 20 years but the suggestion that Coleman was picked over Dennis Betts was ridiculous.

Betts has proven himself on working with one of the lowest budgets in the league, his name would have helped with recruitment and I’m sure he’d have done a good enough job to reach the play offs.

Echoing Jame’s point, it is purely fanciful that we need a “rich backer” we can’t even compete with Swinton. Clearly, the case of a shockingly bad use of our resources regardless of how small they are.

Given a choice, I’d keep Coleman over Hamilton.

I don't think anyone on this board will disagree with you.

Without Hamilton interfering, Coleman may well turn out to be a decent coach.
