Smith for me controlled the game and seen it out something we have lacked in the past. The drop goal was pure class his eyes where focused to pass along the line to the left then somehow he swivelled and popped it over neither the crowd or the Fax players expected it. Ollie Davies was immense once again did the full 80 and even covered down the middle when Lawton came on. All the team put a shift in that's all I wanted to see and was not let down.
Constructive criticism time now. Fozard was no where near his usual self, he never brought the players on to the ball (ie taking a step or two from the ptb to bring the runners on and even stranger he only scooted once in the whole game (75 mins) which even our wingers where doing to give the forwards breathing time. This leads to the second point about not utilising the subs. By only using 2 subs our big units are not getting sufficient breaks, I know we won but it is a long season and if SF does this too regularly then we are in trouble.
All in all a great win, great support and we still top the league, more of the same lads.
PS:- Sandy it was a good job we played down the slope second half 😆
