@pauliewalnuts I know your trying to be positive and do the company line thing but honestly you can't really put a silver lining to resign Joe for 2 years
I appreciate your solidarity with the club but fundamentally there's something wrong with our recruitment model
@vikingfox71 I understand fans frustrations, every one has their favourites, and also have their whipping boys.
It's irrelevant what we all think about players signed/retained/released, that will always be down to the Coach, and whatever funds he has. Having spoken to him 2hrs ago, he said the players he wants, want stupid money. We can't and won't go down that boom & bust road.
So basically, if you don't like what's on the menu, you'd better go a different restaurant.....
Or you could just get behind YOUR team.

So we can’t afford to sign competitive players for the championship but we think we have a chance of super league next year?
I wonder if match day tickets will reflect the quality on the pitch next year as £25 is perfect for a super league squad, but very overpriced for a low end championship squad.
@vikingfox71 I'm not speaking as a Club official, as I'm not one. I'm only here for you and others to ask questions, and hopefully get answers, on your behalf.
As I see it, the recruitment model is only as good as the funds available. You won't be seeing Nathan Cleary etc at Naughton Park any time soon. That's the reality. My opinion is that only qualifying for the PO's once in Donkey's Years is just not good enough. We've been in this division long enough to get established as a top 4 side, it hasn't happened. Make of that what you will. But i think AC has had a good go at trying to change this abject failing. Given a cleaner bill of health, mid season, we would have sailed into the top 5. Ifs, buts and maybes.

Yet another smug condescending comment tellings fans not to attend some voice you are get of your pedestal or wise up.@vikingfox71 I understand fans frustrations, every one has their favourites, and also have their whipping boys.

@pauliewalnuts No one is obviously expecting a cleary type player.
But Lyons? surely we’ve got to be doing better than that. All our competitors are.
@pauliewalnuts I appreciate that but as I see it we never score enough points and that was the same before the crisis and signing players who have only once got in the play offs and expect them to challenge is madness to me
Coleman has said at the forums we are about 6th in the Spending league in the Championship and about 4 teams are Spending double what we are. You can't expect to compete on that basis. Its not a charity, players give up family time and want paying.
Time for some straight talking from the board, they should be telling us not Allan. What's the plan, why are we just existing. Are we getting any serious investment or not. I understand trying to be positive but for me its got to the point where people are fed up, so they may as well put the cards on the table. Do we want SL, do we want top 4 Championship? Or is 7th/8th place now our level. If we do want it, what's the detail of this 6 year plan, not just that we have one, what's the detail and how are we tracking.
Not good enough for me to be starting in a top 4 team, as a back up he can do a job but for me we are weaker with him in the side.
let see what the club can pull out in the off season
Not sure about that. There was no injury crisis when Widnes lost early season games v Barrow and Batley.Given a cleaner bill of health, mid season, we would have sailed into the top 5. Ifs, buts and maybes.
@dan1 3 of those teams maybe 4 if Toulouse give up are leaving our division so surely apart from Oldham we must be challenging because scraping in the playoffs next year in a weaker division won't do
2026 .....groundhog day ....can't even be arsed saying anything anymore it's just all too predictable...
Well I think Lyons may well improve - remember he had a cracking game against Toulouse and the pn got injured
no doubt we need a running standoff but Joe is certainly better than Jack at 6
wait and see who we sign for the missing 5/6 players and who we DR with
onwards and upwards
Very frustrating.
To be honest IMO Lyons is far from the worst renewal. I was not a great fan of Patton but he made tries with his short quick or delayed pass near the line. We need to resign another half back who can run, make breaks, kick deep & high & draw the defence before passing as our number one choice.
So Celtic Crusaders are outbidding us now & I guess they could well test us next year.
I will renew my ticket but not expecting a lot to be honest!
I also struggle with why we sign players last year when we got in playoffs jj was loose forward and got player of year I think? Then we have re signed Gregson on a 2 year deal we also have mcwhirter who has played well there so with all that why are we still talking to hall ? Surely another loose forward utility isn't a major problem for us ? So if money is so tight having 4 loose forwards makes no sense to me !! What do I know anymore
