What I mean by steadied the ship is he’s brought in experience at this level and we are looking at making the playoffs which we haven’t done since coming down.

We are not looking at making the play offs though. We are losing too many games, 3 out of 7 at home & 3 out of 5 away  but beat Swinton at the neutral York.

🤣 Getting humiliated at Dewsbury & others

Holiday camp culture

A dreadful brand of boring rugby

Crowds on the slide

Complete lack of positive signings

Shortage of props when a blind man on a galloping horse could see that

Oh yes, Kears' brought something to the club alright 🤣

Think the ship your're thinking about is the Titanic

We can all agree that this squad isn’t performing as well as they should be but that’s sport. I have said on previous posts that we need to make big changes next season including the coach if results keep going the way they are but if we can keep injuries to a minimum we can make the playoffs this season which is a good start to rebuild

your kidding yourself if you thought we would win the league this season. This holiday culture you mention is 90% of the squad are happy to play championship rugby and therefore will only want to play at this level

Not once have I suggested I thought we would win the league.

I want to see pride, passion, guts and a will to win both on & off the field, something us long standing fans crave.

All i can see are a lot of fed up fans leaving the club in every direction

The Dewsbury game was one which sent alarm bells ringing for me. The attitude on display then was awful and raised questions about the management and leadership as, if anything, JK has made his name as a Cup Coach.

There are too many players who have been here either in the early SOC days when on field didn't matter as we were all about 'ticking the boxes' or at the end of SL when we won 8 League Matches in 2 Years. They have been part of the culture that has seen the club be the definition of mediocrity.

All this stuff about the finances of the club I think mask repeatedly bad decision making and recruitment; we had a poor crowd for Widnes of 2500 last week, but Batley and Sheffield get a quarter of that and consistently win far more matches than us. Barrow and Whitehaven have been in the Play-Offs since we have been back at this level and we haven't!

Hopefully now CH has got his feet under the table, he can work on changing this. We have not had a good season for 7 years. It is really important we at least put a run together in the second half of the season, starting tomorrow or I can see a big drop off in Season Ticket Sales next year- especially as we have the 3rd highest price in the League this year; value for money?

Smashed more baguettes than ever after the disgraceful performance. Players should be embarrassed with that crunchie performance. Me and my mates won't be buying a season ticket next year unless the attitude changes. The owners are not engaging with fans it is a shower of crunchie. 🥖🥖🥖🥖💩💩

I agree with you guys and especially the dewsbury game was embarrassing for the club. I’m as equally disappointed and frustrated with the situation at the club regarding our current position and would love to see us make big changes next season. The same question comes up from a lot of people on this forum… where does the investment come from? Well like all sports teams now it’s ran like a business and if your business is failing or stagnating chances are it isn’t being run right.

Look at salford, no longer do they have a cash cow and are raising funds through a shareholder initiative. I’m not saying we should copy them but rather figure out a way that works for us. If we can find a buyer great, if we can find 20 businesses investing £10k a season great, 40 businesses £5k great. I think all youth amateur players in widnes/Runcorn should be given a free season ticket accompanied with paying adult would be a good idea and a way to make the connection for the next generation of fans. Players should be in schools/youth clubs every week. We are run like a part time team so what else can we be.

I don’t know much about this new guy they brought in as director? CH

The dewsbury game was an obvious banana skin as I said at the time - they are no mugs

we are at the moment a mid table team but with a few wins in a row we will be top 4 - we are not the best by far but how do you think the fans of York,Bradford and Toulouse feel ?

we need more bodies - half back on loan and a prop at minimum

reckon haven will be big forwards battering through the middle and we are light, at least Grady back

We have to start playing to our strengths rather than trying to adopt a style of rugby we can’t play

we have a light pack so quick play the balls and moving the ball around to tire bigger packs out.

Play simple stuff in our own 20 and have have more discipline m

improved set completion rates

This talk about a holiday camp mentality has some truth in the sense that players who haven’t played particularly well will be picked but that’s more down to lack of quality depth in the squad

But there lies part of the problem at WV, couldn't give a hoot & did not respect the opposition. It's been the same for years under various coaches. There is a deep seated attitude problem at WV, that's why a lot of fans are saying time's up, enough's enough.

@cuerdley-viking time for a huge clear out. We have some good players but for us to start challenging for promotion we need to assemble a squad that wants to win promotion and it’s obvious we don’t have that at the moment
