Problem for me I just wish the club be more open on things. Lawton is one of our better forwards, and if played in the 2nd row he be more dangerous. If signing several Swinton and Leigh Miners players it doesn't give me confidence in our board. I cancelled my WVIPS because the communication is very poor and with our fan base should be getting better quality of players. It seems to not matter in this league because Batley and Sheffield are doing okay with there fan base.
@sandgroper to be fair, those pointing the finger at SOC and Rule were spot on, they did ruin the club and leave us on the verge of bankruptcy.
Interesting theory on "agent" Hamilton from Paulie. He leaves Oldham to take a job with us, a number of our players sign for Oldham, he then goes back to them. I have no idea if it's true or not, it probably isn't, but as conspiracy theories go it's a good one!
Steve O'Connor put £4M into Widnes. He was praised continually in the year we got the licence to go back up. His biggest and fatal mistake was employing James Rule, if he wanted to continue to be actively involved in the club and not employed him, it may have been different.
It was a pivotal time for the club as the repercussions have been extremely damaging since, we've not recovered and it's got progressively worse. My worry with Hamilton is there is no smoke without fire - people within the game told me negative things about him when he was appointed. His experience is also Oldham, a part time club who have yo-yo'ed the league structures for years, have had no money, have treaded water for a long time, had zero youth structure - hardly a glowing reference to try and get the club back on the up.
I'm still underwhelmed by the new coach appointment, but happy to be proved wrong. The demise seems to continue, appointing an ex-Leigh Miners coach is not part of the ambition this club used to show.
Recruitment now is huge for the next few months, we need to show some ambition of I fear the gates will continue to decrease. I've hear we're looking to dual reg with Wigan next year which will be a big help, their youth and reserves are strong so we need to capitalise on this. The lack of SL dual reg this year for us has been a massive fail, when others can rely on better players coming in to lift the standards, we haven't.
Big few months ahead, club need to show their cards and think much bigger than we have lately.
Wouldn't disagree VM. There is always a problem regarding what could or should be disclosed - we all would like to be 'in the know!!'
Regarding coaches, AC may be a bit of a shock but he seems to have made positive progress wherever he has been and seems to have better contacts around this area than we have had recently so the jury will have to wait and see. Better rated coaches may not fancy the challenge as we are atm! Again, how much is down to the coach and how much to the players?
Regarding our Swinton signings I would guess that AC will want a few lads who he can trust to give him at least a few friends as he starts his contract. What we retain and he signs to play alongside them will make the real difference.
I see Fozzard as our best and most reliable creative player by far this year and I would suggest that he should be the level that we should be aiming to sign. (That could apply whether he stays or goes!).
Unless we are all mistaken we haven't got the sort of cash to tempt even old SL players atm but what we must have is a solid, stubborn pack. We will have, hopefully, enough imagination among our backs to score tries from behind them! So often this season and last bog standard packs against us have limited our progress.
We have successfully signed from below us before, provided the individual signed is hungry and can be improved by our coach.
Finally, I will continue to support WVIPs. I cannot see how depriving the club of what amounts to my small change is going to improve their purchasing power and the team that I support.
However that is a personal choice for all supporters!!

however we still are one of the best supported clubs in our league, yet we fail year on year to compete
we have had many coaches, none of which have set the world alight
perhaps the time is to give the new guy a chance and see what he can do with his connections in the lower leagues and amateur connections
i don’t like the rumours of who is leaving I would like some communication from the club, or perhaps no contracts have been signed.
we will struggle to make the play offs unless we beat fax on Sunday, which for a club in our position is unacceptable
RL is about to go through a massive change and I reckon we will lose half a dozen clubs as the RFL are so blinkered it’s unbelievable
hopefully we will be a club coming through the other side

oh boy....i hope there are players in the wings that we know nothing about at the moment coz...as it curently stands this is gonna be widnes on the cheap...we will be fans grateful for the odd suprisingly good win and staying up...thats the mentality that is being created be grateful for what we have and be happy for challenging only for the playoffs...as long as we dont go champ 1 we should all be gratful...thats what is being created.

They put it on social media now before the official site. I presume its to get the clicks up as part of the IMG criteria nonsense.
Miller and the new prop from Leeds replace Brookes and Lawton in the squad. We have Walker, Ince, Craven and Owens if we want to make changes following the loss to York.
Regarding 'our' new prop didn't get a mention in the Leeds Reserves report!

I don't know, but does it really take the club long to put the squad on it's own website at the same time as it puts it on social media?
