So the new kit is on the website after being launched this evening.
The kit was introduced with a very good, professional video which was impressive in its own right. So I thought brilliant, this is going to be good. And well, make your own mind up.
We have had some bad shirts in the past, but at least they were Widnes shirts, at a time when people are short of cash and the club has made such strides to connect with the fans and the club identity, why anyone would have done trhis is just beyond me.
As i say, make your own mind up.
Why have we moved away from traditional black and white home shirt.
Sorry, was about to answer you Viking01, but then I saw the away strip. God help us.
What goes on in people's heads?
I weren’t around in 1875 so can’t comment on the genuine-ity of the red and black colour scheme but it’s intention to honour that history is there so why people are kicking up so much or a fuss about it I don’t know. There only so many variations of white and black you can have and it will obviously be back to that next year
i like both shirts personally
Couldn't give a monkey's about kits,myself.It's a rugby team not a fashion parade.

It is a Widnes shirt, as it was when the club was formed in 1875. It's a shirt to reflect the 150th anniversary. Do you not get that?
The away shirt is all red (with a black V), similar to the away kits we had for most of my lifetime.

People obviously have had a quiet offseason and have been waiting for the opportunity to have a good moan.( nothing wrong with the kits in my opinion)
Yeah I like these new kits to be fair. The video and the whole launch was well done IMO. No idea what the kit was like in 1875 but I'm happy to go with these for a year, very snazzy.
See they have left the Gold Star off yet again, this Board seems to have an issue with our heritage. A lot of clubs would love to have a star to display. It could easily been put on the collar.
I wouldn't say that. They organised player reunions to commemorate both the 84 challenge cup and 89 world club challenge this year.40 years and 35 years anniversary.See they have left the Gold Star off yet again, this Board seems to have an issue with our heritage.
I don't mind the kits, as makes a change for something different. If like it or don't it is just an opion because everyone has different likes and dislikes. Someone might not like the home top but like the away top. Buy that one you like or just don't bother 😂🙈 People just like a good moan it seems and may be the moaners can design one and put forward a replica kit design on here so we can moan too. 😂🙈
Personally think it should have been the away kit, but it is what it is.
It is right that the club celebrates its heritage - it's probably its strongest (only?) asset.
But at a time when you're trying to increase attendances and get a new generation of fan, I'm not sure how confusing the issue of home colours and not using the current club badge (for the second season running) is going to help that.
FWIW, I think the same when Super League clubs wear random kits at Magic Weekend. Likewise, Warrington have decided to wear a special kit to Vegas rather than celebrate their own colours and identity.
To have a promo video about the town its team and people, then put DCBL as the front is poor form for me. I said the same last year. Both, great shirts. Maybe the Vegas kit Wire play will be our 89 shirt so they can have a gold star at last!
There was no salute to the 1975 Wembley win in this years kits. It's the 50th anniversary of the start of our Cup Kings era, all which led to 1989.
Perhaps there is something on the back burner' for the now, annual, 3rd kit to acknowledge Vinty's Boys?
