I've been watching us since about 1975 and this has to be the worst month of results on record, four defeats in four very winnable games, Kear had to go.
It's good to see though that the players are taking it serious, by having a team meeting in the Albion beer garden.
They're a disgrace Mr L, a fookin disgrace, every single one of them. Fuckin hell, if I won the euromillions, I wouldn’t have these pricks monitoring the car park. Wankers, each an every one of em
Stuart Littler.
Remember that name....
I was afraid of this as well.
Please god no! Grub of a player and hardly a glorious coaching career to date!!!
hopefully not he’s had an awful coaching career if you look at his stats if you think we’re bad now getting him in will deffo be the end for us
Not as bad as 1998(yet!) when Graham West was coach. We won 9 matches all season, but lost 9 in a row at the end of the season, before winning our final match at Rochdale, in a bit of a mud bath. Kyle white slid over from about 10-15 yards out, and Shane Wilson scored after the pass hit the centre on the head and deflected into Wilson’s hands to score .
Apologies for being an anorak but it was Marty Moore who scored that freak try! That was probably the worst Widnes side I’ve seen. The current side is a long way ahead of it in terms of ability though you wouldn’t have thought it if you watched them on Sunday.
@mt Yes you’re right, I think it was Wilson’s head thst the ball hit, and went into Moores hands.
Well something had to give after 4 consecutive losses to teams below us. Some selections in recent weeks have been mystifying. Yesterday leaving 4 of our most influential players on the bench amazed me. If they had been in the starting 13 the result may well have been different. Dropping Edge unless injured also strange.
We are definitely in a relegation battle now.
I am dismayed to see posters dishing possible coach replacements before anyone has been announced. We are not in attractive proposition & certainly not nearing the last third of the season.
I shall purchase a season ticket next year as it is my club. No Mr Cape I am not happy before you start, but if we all desert that definitely will make matters even worse.
The directors imo are true club supporters unlike some previous boards & have the best interests of the club in mind. We have to trust them to appoint the best coach available within our financial constraints.
Agree with the comments about JK, had to go, but far far bigger issues at play here
Write the season off half way through, sign some has been SL props, some cheapies from the league below and go again, and a bit of cheap Widnes Labour. Insanity doing the same thing and expecting different results
Not an easy run in these last 10-12 games and with that current squad, i have very little Hope of a revival.
I still put it down to the board myself. A board I'm thankful for when they saved us and to have given us life again when we were up against it.But it should have always been a transitional arrangement. And its clear with every season, i beleive they've taken us as far as they can go. New investment needed, new resources needed and before i get asked "who would want widnes?", i don't have a magic 8 ball but you have to speculate and put the club up for sale first
I remember being in that last SL season thinking "How could this get any worse?", but WOW!! This could be 5 straight seasons in the CHAMPIONSHIP without playoffs, that's disgusting. 5 seasons. Hadn't we sold just over 1,100 season tickets this year, 2 weeks before it started? Down from 2,500-3,000 4-5 years back. It just isn't sustainable unless the board are happy with just existing, and battling relegation. No ambition, terrible
I don't think this is a good league, but it's far better than what Widnes think it is. Can't wait for 7 EUR a pint on Saturday and screaming the roof down when we score our first try in the 78th minute

I am far from going to start Geoff, each and every one who posts on here wants nothing but the best for WVRLFC and I would never ever have a pop at anyone going and supporting Widnes. But I have had enough now. I was the last die hard fan out of a gang of 8 of us who went every other Sunday. I have become so disillusioned by how the club is run, the players we have signed and the drab rugby that I've seen, its come to a point now that, I've better things to do with my afternoons on a Sunday. The real eye opener was on Sunday when I went to leave at half time, the amount of lads who left with me! Lads who never, ever slagged the club off, but have had enough. Its fans that have watched WVRLFC for years that, once they go and find other things to do on a Sunday, it'll be near impossible to get them back. Sad times Geoff.
@steve Perhaps a victim of being too loyal to the players. Money was made available but no one brought in to bolster the pack.
I heard kear was offered props but turned them down. Maybe he felt they weren’t worth the money or he wanted to prove he had the squad good enough to compete
