I do not think we are in any danger of relegation, so I would keep Kear for the season, but start looking straight away for a replacement.
It is high time we had a coach with some real quality and an ambition to play entertaining rugby .
We also need to start looking at players we would like to try and sign for next season and have a budget set so a new coach knows exactly what is going to be available.
In the meantime, I think we should adopt the old platters song The Great Pretender(s) as our team song.
Players who aren't tied up on deals are free to talk to clubs from May so we need to be talking to agents now. However, who's picking these players? Is it Kear planning for next year? So if Kear stays for the rest of the season then goes then we'll end up with a new coach inheriting someone else's squad.

To use your argument then - Widnes employed Kear due to his relative coaching career, as 'good coaches don't go bad overnight'. Kear has won 2 Challenge Cups - what has Henderson achieved to be called a good coach?
Not sure how York overachieved last year they spent a fortune, brought in lots of ex-SL players and finished 6th (one place above Widnes). They've been very poor this year under Henderson.
Do I think Kear is the answer? Not particularly. Do I think Henderson is? Absolutely not.
Our slump has co-insided with a fair few injuries and players missing, JK may have asked the club for new players and been knocked back - we don't know the ins and outs of it.
We are a club with little money who have just slipped to 7th in the league having completed just over half the season and are 4 league points off 5th place. We played a good quarter of the season so far with no half backs, a couple of games with only 18 serviceable players in the squad and one game where in-play injuries brought on our 18th man.
A playoff place is still well within the realms of the possible and I’m still supporting the team to get there!
