JJ to Cas

I don't think JJ has played great since he came back and if he doesn't really fancy it then I'd rather he went.

However, it is madness to let him go with out a replacement.

It's doubly concerning to see the cost-cutting, but I suppose that's what comes of £100k plus of VIQI money ending.

The whole set up is a bit Social Club Committee for me.

We need answers now, 3 points above relegation and 5 losses on the spin and we let a first team player leave. We have already lost Josh Johnson, Evans and Amor since the start of the season, all in the first 1-17 squad numbers, how much money do we need to save??

"Castleford Tigers secure Paul McShane replacement with Championship star to arrive"

There is an article on Yorkshire Live about this, saying that JJ will replace the injured McShane at Castleford. Whether that makes it true or not I don't know.

It’s not the end of the world. He’s hardly stood out has he?

The main issue is the transparency from the club. How much money is there, and why aren’t they spending any?

I think Widnes will be safe this year, but next year with the drop in income from ticket sales could lead to Widnes languishing in the third tier in 2025.

Agree, he’s not stood out. But we have barely got enough players fit to put a full 17 on the pitch. And if JJ does go and then Fozard happens to get injured it would be a brave man who bet on us staying up.

Maybe JJ has stuff going on in his private life and needs a move.

You, me and everyone knows.

It’s up to the board to address it

Sadly JJ hasn’t stood out but we shouldn’t be letting him go the position we’re in unless like people have pointed out we get a deal where we have a prop or two, highly unlikely and very worrying times now. Time to add a hooker to the ever growing list of players we need! Feel sorry for fozard the only hooker who ever has to play a full 80😂

My understanding is he moved back to widnes with his missus

I can’t understand why he would want to leave unless widnes had agreed the move with cas first

when a club says we are happy to let you leave then I guess it’s a done deal

we desperately need a statement from the club now with regards to what they are doing to save the season, it seems like a company selling its assets before filing bankruptcy

We can ill afford to lose Johnstone at what is a pivotal period in the season and in a key position. We are too close to the relegation places for comfort and need to turn our form around ASAP.

I am assuming that this is true, in which case would ask why the Club have not made an announcement. It may well be that Johnstone had a release clause in his contract that left no choice to the Club.

Surely, the Club must now bring in a few season long loans/signings, or are they prepared to sit back and see us drift further into the relegation places.

After a spirited display against Toulouse, but losing and shipping 40 points, I thought maybe we could see an upturn in form and results against Bradford, Keighley and Whitehaven.

Sadly this throws up even more doubts about our ability, financial or otherwise, to compete in this league with  relegation a distinct possibility.

JJ moved back here in order for his family to settle back in the area for schools etc and is an apprentice electrician at Heinz in Wigan. His agent was contacted by Cas about a move and the club had to agree. As for not standing out that’s a little harsh as he has been continually been played out of position AND who has stood out this miserable season.
