Nice day for a match and after last weeks game be good to see them up against a better team. Hope we have a good turnout for a loyal player who I have to admit looked really good last week in all aspects of his game.
Very much looking forward to this game. I missed last week's. Has anyone else noticed both Bent & Field have not been in either friendly squad? Have they picked up injuries in training I wonder?
Will it be on the radio?
Not a very good first half, missing too many tackles. They look quicker than we do, with the ball. 4-12

much faster than us and their half backs are much quicker. Pulled one back from Fozzard 10-12
Sacked in the morning 😂👍
Is it bad? 🫣😂
Not surprised we struggled- this is the worst squad we’ve possibly ever had and definitely the worst since we’ve been down in the Championship. Full of bottom half Championship players.
Another long season awaits.
It’s a friendly give it a rest 🤣 hardly like they’re giving it 100% is it? Same as last week result isn’t important it’s about trying out new things working on on-field partnerships, fitness etc.
do I expect is to challenge no but does anyone? The championship is an extremely competitive competition where - minius the top 2-3 Rich boys- everyone can beat anyone on any given day.
reading anything into a friendly when the real season doesn’t kick off for 2 months is more than pathetic
22-22. Two converted tries in the last two mins. Att 870 a little disappointing considering it wasn't a bad afternoon to blow the cobwebs off. Game was not a classic by any means but when we threw the ball about we looked decent but that was not often and no offloading at all. So much for an open style of playing.
If Haven weren't giving 100% then that makes the result worse. As usual a friendly win is considered to be promising for the season ahead but a defeat or draw then the result doesn't matter.
I don’t know how they got the attendance as 870, there was a lot more there than last week, 2 stands open compared with 1 last week when the attendance was1,012.
Think they might be giving the extra to Jack for his testimonial!
Thought Whitehaven played well, though they tired at the end. Some of their recruits look useful, including the prop Castle. Romeo and Maizen caused problems with their pace.
Roby looked sharp with his few touches in the second half. Shame we couldn't have seen Kirk in a front row with Farnworth.
Fozard played extremely long minutes considering it was a pre-season game.
Widnes were very disjointed as a result of all the changes, which I guess is inevitable in pre-season.
Where is this pivot play with the half backs and LF, Gregson has been piss poor in the two games. Where is the entertaining RL our coach promised ?. The pack is way too small and will get hammered when the season kicks off.
