The one thing that's comical on here is that if our signings had included let's say sammut..langtree...rourke..walker .. Spencer tonks..alot of people would rejoice these as good or great signings ..the ones from Swinton are seen as crap coz their coming from a near relegated team ..but the players above are players from clubs that finished below Swinton... completely agree with anyone that says craven replacement was key ..but tbf lyodd and gregson are good players ..no prima Donnas just honest workhorses that are actually skilled ...with the logic bounded around you can't really say the Swinton boys are pants n the others aren't surely..

@cumbria-viking I'm pretty sure no one would be rejoicing if we'd signed the players you've mentioned, but it suits your narrative.

On the face of it the recruitment up to now has not been great, and people are frustrated with it. This is a forum to voice their opinions.

I think the club could still be in negotiations with some players and their agents or maybe finalizing a deal maybe. Hopefully it will be a case of save the best for last!

@geoffw

Could be a joint Lloyd/Gilmore effort with Lloyd as pack leader. Can't remember when we last had one of those!!

@widnes77 no narrative whatsoever..just pointing out the Swinton players aren't seen as good enough and the players I mentioned have been touted on here as "good potential signings"..no narrative just a fact ..

Not posted in a long time but some rubbsh spouted on here, people are really defending our signings that are a joke, Swinton on a much much lower budget than ours have some cracking signings which includes two great half backs an international winger and one of the best second rowers in the league. When Coleman said he was going to compete he forgot to mention the teams that we will be competing against which are Swinton. Doncaster and Dewsbury. At the fans Meeting if you gave Hamilton a different accent then it would be Jimmy Rule speaking but more arrogant. The same waffling crap that Rule was saying also the guy going round with the mike should of slapped him as he was so condesending towards him. We have employed a bad one there god help us.

I for one aren't defending the signings I'm pointing out the logic people are using for saying their crap...the not signing a 6 is a diabolical decision and will bite us on the backside 100%...I've no doubt we won't be competing for top 6 with the squad so far

Fact is none of us have a crystal ball..we don't know how well these players are gonna gel if they do at all ..we've had previous seasons where we've thought we'll do well on the back of the squad and got nowhere near the play offs ..we've pumped money into ex SL players and they've flopped massively bar maybe Smith ...I do agree with comments that the budget has obviously been slashed because that's plainfullly obvious up to now and it just shows Hamilton blatantly lied on TV

I don't know who you are referring to but don't include me.Sammut must be near 38 so I wouldn't be rejoicing that one.I had never even heard of Langtree until you mentioned him about six times on here.Not sure who Rourke and Tonks are.Walker,if you mean Brad Walker then yes,he would have been a decent signing.One from five.

There will be no new number 6. Joe Lyons will take that role on. Coleman has highlighted how impressed he is by him.

Enjoy.

Meanwhile York, who finished in the last play off spot available, have signed the likes of Will Dagger, Jimmy Keinhorst and now Richie Myler.

All good saying at a members event were an ambitious club. What have the club done to back this up?

Coleman is going to be some coach if we’re to get the play offs

With the squad so far,he will have it all on to keep us out of the relegation zone,all in all makes the ambitious club statement look anything but really.

Let's face it Hamilton had the front to blatantly tell porkies on TV over the budget cuts ..more slashes..so blagging the fans at a forum with some spiel about ambition is no problem at all .. the blokes off his head
