Meanwhile York, who finished in the last play off spot available, have signed the likes of Will Dagger, Jimmy Keinhorst and now Richie Myler.

All good saying at a members event were an ambitious club. What have the club done to back this up?

Coleman is going to be some coach if we’re to get the play offs

It's easy to talk a good game for six months over winter, proof will be in the pudding come Feb-April.

Myler would have been a handy acquisition but the coach has already said he doesn't want players in their 30s coming here from SL so that will be the reason we turned him down.

I think you're right about us not going for him. To me it seems a really stupid statement to sweep all 30+ ex-SL players and say we don't want them. Inevitably there will be some good, some bad and some middling.

I'd suggest that 1 or 2 30+ ex-SL players might compliment 3 ex-Swinton players, 1 from Batley and 1 from Whitehaven. It's about getting the right ones....

Richie Myler would improve our squad 100%.

Dudson would improve our squad 100%

LMS would have improved our squad 100%

What is our transfer strategy? Ex-Swinton players who finished below us??? They may all be decent and of course I hope they prove me wrong but on the face of it unless AC is our very own Klopp I can't see how he can make Joe Lyons improve vastly from what he has been for the last 5 years, our 3rd or 4th choice halfback in very poor teams!

See that the Chapelhows are both at Oldham!!

Roundly rubbished on here so either our talent spotters are wrong or Ford/Long aren't very good talent spotters!!!!

I understand what Coach Coleman's principles are, sadly they don't appear to have worked at Swinton, and for me, they will insure that come August time, we will have one foot through the trap door. I hope I'm wrong.

Our pack is still no better than 2023. 2022, 202.....

Up the Chemics.

From the rumblings on here it sounds like AC is a rather abrasive character. This can jerk some into action but it can also make some less eager to play for him.

It might also be the key to the 'aggression' that we haven't seen in our passed few seasons?

Again, time will tell.

Seems like we are heading for a long off season, without much, to make us look forward to the season.

@cumbria-viking sorry CV, but I'd say there's definitely a narrative from you and it's a vociferous defence of most of what the club does.

Just looking at a couple of your recent topics

Beyond Pathetic

In which you lay into fans who don't like what us currently going on at the club and it's recruitment/ retention.

Facts

Where you again lay into people for the hysteria over the concern over player retention.

Not going to get into an argument but nothing you say will convince me there isn't a narrative.

@widnes77 well I'm very impressed you did your homework mate 😂 again no narrative..as much as I've stood up for the club in certain things I've panned them in others ...not signing a 6.. signing butt..Hamilton lies etc ..maybe I just see things a bit more logical and don't run around screaming at literally every single thing that some do ..n I'll stick to the points I made coz I don't believe in doom mongering at every opportunity...some people are deluded in how they view our departed players..we've signed 3 props that are better than Lawton AS A PROP .coz Lawton ain't one but was constantly put there ..on past two seasons Reilly is light years above farnworth..craven no fault of his own probably earned a hefty wedge to sit in the stands ..what we can agree on is the clubs on a downward but sorry mate I don't agree with some things that are said ...no argument here either but maybe when you accuse people of having a narrative you should maybe not ignore the other arguments put...coz that in itself is painting a narrative...I'll criticise objectively n not just whinge about everything..👍

Do you realise how bad we are?

You're saying a prop who played 16 times in SL last year and 39 times in the best/second best team the year before wouldn't be an improvement on the pack that finished in the bottom half of the championship?

I've not played for 30 years and I'd be a welcome addition to our squad......

@sandgroper come on mate… we’ve seen the chaplehows play in the championship for sometime now and I think we can all agree they’re definitely still not good enough for the size they have

It proves that the rubbishes where right and they have found there playing level in a lower league.

Writing off all ex-SL players in their 30s is a mistake, as has been said. Plenty of them do a good job for other teams too.

Myler and Dudson would undoubtedly have improved the current Widnes squad. Both played regular Super League last season - different to signing (say) Paul Clough or Lee Jewitt, or even Matt Cook.
