Never mind our first half performance - it was a very disappointing crowd on such a good day for the game.

Much better second half performance.

Yep, fair play. Came away thinking it didn't feel like a 40 pointer as it was nip and tuck till the hour mark then we quickly went away from them.
Thought Owens was MOM for a captain's knock, really not sure about Lyons!

Brace of tries for Lyons and good work in creating the try for Wilde before half time. I'd have had Owens or Farnworth as MOM myself though. Thought latter made a massive difference today and was a stand out.

I can’t get to the games as I live in the states but will watch the game on widnes tv in the week

i said it last week I would have farnworth over lulu any week

I saw someone mention he played well and makes a difference with his aggression when he comes on but one forward isn’t enough to intimidate the opponents

this is rugby league and a game can be lost/won through pack being bullied by a bigger more aggressive pack

ok where do we find this big aggressive prop from, well look at baker he was amateur 3 seasons ago so maybe look at some semi pro from the Auckland comp

Much better 2nd half, but had Haven got another try when they pulled it back to 28-16, who knows what might have happened.

The majority of the 1st half we were dominated in almost every tackle. Dragged, pushed, pulled, lifted, slammed, you name it Haven did it. Credit to Haven for tackling hard and keeping the play alive by offloading so much.

Fair play to the lads for the 2nd half - thought they learned as the game went on and the subs contributed well. I do fear when we have to go to the likes of London, Leigh & Toulouse - just dont think we've got the artillery or attitude to get even worry those sides.

I honestly feel the scoreline flattered us . I've said it before , as have plenty of others , we need 3 big experienced and aggressive forwards.

Also dont get this playing Owens at 6 and Lyons at 1 . Others above have said Owens as mom but for me his lack of a natural pass cost us on a few occasions when we spread the ball today. Get him back to FB and play Lyons there until Craven is fit. Baker or Farnworth mom for me.

It seems teams have figured out we have a bit of a soft underbelly and come at us hard, with physicality all over the pitch. It was indeed a much tighter game than the scoreline suggests, but fortunately as Haven tired, we suddenly found a bit of guile and class that we had lacked for most of the first half and we actually played some decent rugby, whereas we played a lot of clueless stuff in the first half. We have a very unfortunate habit of repeating the same ineffectual one man drives by our relatively lightweight forwards, time and time again. Baker and Farnworth were worthy exceptions! Still at least we had the wit to bounce back and be a little ruthless in the last 20 minutes!

All in all an average day- pleased we scored a few in the second half and pleased with Farnworth returning and our wingers again looked decent in attack.

Crowd on balance disappointing, but I think we perhaps need to accept that the floating fans will not be overly enthused by a mid-table Champ team and the London and Dewsbury matches will have had an effect. If you look at 2010, for example, crowds were pretty similar to today.
