A picture of a player on Facebook & someone says we have signed him on a 2 year deal. I have no idea who it is. Anyone heard anything?

If there's any truth to it I'm hoping it'll be Josh Rourke ...he's there full back that they picked up from Salford on a one yr deal ..very good goal kicker ..very good  player n good age ..had a great game against us few weeks back ....other than him I can't think of anyone else worth going for bar king ...

If Josh rourke then I think this would be a great move a full back with pace! And plenty of improvement in him

A new exciting full back will be good.

jack Owens has been a good servant to Widnes but he looks done, perhaps a move to the mighty Oldham with his mates might do him good.

Heard a rumour that Widnes have signed Owain Abel from North Wales Crusaders. Don't know if it's true but, he's a full back.

@sainthamish he has been great this season. Signed from Thatto Heath. Runs it well for his size

@gofyn He was at Pilks Recs and had a trial at Swinton last year but, Swinton didn't take him on so he went back to Pilks but was picked up by Crusaders.  My nephew played in the same Pilks team at juniors.

Maybe it all depends on where they live! Long drives to training isn't an attractive option!

If I was Joe Edge, I’d be banging on the boardroom door if they were shopping for a fullback!

@steve

You need more than one! We maybe looking at squad members as well as 'ready made' first teamers.

I feel sorry for 'haven but their players must be looking around, and they made us look a bit stupid!!!

Definitely need more than one full back history of the last few seasons shows when injuries come we simply don’t cope at all! The more options we have the better and a fullback with pace is something we have missed for quite some time

Well this lad looks decent and I do not think Edge will be concerned, because competition breathes improved performances.Plus on a positive Edge is very versatile and I am sure this lad is too. Our team is pretty okay just need strengthening in the prop department, halfback, and this season I felt we had too many wingers. Hoping for an interchange hooker with whoever it is next year, and we all want Fozard to stay. 😎

We need to prepare to cover a number of positions as much as possible.  Edge may not be full back  next year but what if he is and he injures himself in game 1?
