Halifax game

I would be disappointed if we lost heavily tonight. Our pack should still hold its own & if  Craven  kicks up to standard he should be able to keep them away from our line for the majority of the game. We need to use our strengths e.g. stop missing Lawton out of the line when in their 20 as we did last week. He got it once & took 3 over the line to score wide out. However if we repeat the Bradford mistakes & the  indiscipline we showed right at the end of the game they could punish us heavily. Heart says Widnes but head a narrow defeat.

Jesus Christ this is woeful. We’re like Halifax’s 14th man. Error after error after error. Gonna be a hard watch this.

Great first half (apart from first 10mins) Halifax shot to pieces… could’ve even had more points. Well done lads. Now same for the second half.

Very happy with the efforts of the first half, Keyes out for the game will help our chances greatly. Dixon/Millar much improved on previous seasons wingers. All the players are playing for each other

Best performance in a long time. Dixon excellent.

Obviously helped when Keyes went off.

Dreadful away following from
Fax.

Massive game next week.

I thought that we might win, but not like that! After a shocking start we played some really good rugby.

Best players on the pitch for me were Dixon (superb), Edge, Grady and Lawton. Craven had a good game too however, Walker might be slimmer but he didn't add anything to the game.

Well done too the the very vocal North Standers, who greatly added to the match experience.

I was surprised that Halifax were lacking in most areas, although they did take their two tries well.

Attendance was 3,187 - not bad for a Monday TV fixture.

Great response to last week, despite missing players. Halifax were definitely disrupted when Keyes went off, but I thought our defence completely reduced their options. Dixon was excellent, as was Craven, Owens, Fozzard and Lyons (despite the bad start). I also thought Wilde, Edge and Field were very good.

2 great wingers with pace, make yards and know how to finish.  How long have we been saying we need pace out wide.  I think this season Grady has been outstanding. Also for those saying Kear plays boring 1 out rugby, I don't know what happened tonight but the ball was given plenty of air.

If Johnston and Farnworth are due back soon I think we are looking really good.

Got to improve on our completion rate under 100! Not good enough!! 😆

Well done lads, good focus and stamina!!!!

Dixon's defence isn't the best tbh, but balances it out with work rate and attack. Jacko looking more like right again.

Good win just a few players of quality more and we could have a chance in the play offs. We will definitely be better with Johnstone and Farnworth if they are back soon? I think Kear is assessing the next 2 or 3 weeks before getting a loan player from Super league. It depends who is available and will it improve our team.

Apart from the first 10 minutes I was impressed with the performance. Everyone contributed imo and whilst some on here May decry Walker I felt he was a handful every time he took the ball in. Hopefully no new injuries from today. I did see craven holding his hand and wincing just before he went off so we shall wait and see what’s said

onwards

Heard Evans has left the club.

Think that’s correct.

Best wishes to him
