@begg last one just has to be a prop ...some games you just need two on the pitch and two on the bench ....Lawton and bent are not the answer ...neither is McWhirter although I have slightly more faith in him at prop than the other two....I'll scream it from the roof tops a billion times ...their back rows not props ..sometimes you might get away with Lawton there but definitely not bent ....taking Murray off for bent  is like being in a sword fight and then midway through your swords replaced with a banana .....lawtons obvious strength is being slightly wider and getting a run on an outside back  or back row ....have props do props work...have back rowers doing back rowers work....we are the only team that consistently play lightweight back rowers at prop...it doesn't work ... particularly against a pack like Donny for example...we all cry out for a pack that will dominate,get good field position for the backs to do their business...trys from our outside backs was abysmal last season and that I put down to lack of field position...losing the forward battle and being on the back foot too much ....anyways were Widnes ....here's to Liam bent being starting prop in game one 😂

I don’t think I’ve laughed out loud like that for a while so thanks CV. That replacing Murray for bent line is a cracker, whilst also being very true

Spelly rates Frank Sergant as decent going on how he performed for Swinton last season.

Sergent is a good player, he is quick and despite not being the biggest he is physically strong, good at kick returns etc.. Dire youth system is producing good players, the fact he has left there is no reflection on his ability.

CV classic line on Benty replaced by a bannana.😂  Great lad and trier but we need big lads who punch yards down the middle. Lawton when plays prop loses his rag in the middle and drops balls too much for that position. But in the back row running at the back line he is destructive especially 15 to 20 meters out. Use his strengths and everything you have said is bang on. Akuala type prop for me now, so lets see what happens. 👌😎

Defensively, I think lawton better at prop as players are more his size and don’t tend to move, duck or sidestep too much 😂

Attack wise he’s much better back row where he can target the smaller men and just bulldozer them

Maybe AC will adopt a unique role for Lawton have him defend in the middle and attack wider out  instead of up the middle.

@mckviking

It worked for Big Jim iirc. He used to loop around the back and run at their centres!
