Feeling Finnigan needs Passionate Pascal for support and help. Wheels have come off and I feel as a mad Frenchy I can put some passion back into the team.  🥖🥖🔥🔥

He also needs a forward who knows how to tackle a big fat lump like Pauli Pauli. The guy can barely walk at times but we don't target him.

We obviously need some serious investment and 2 big props required. Why drop Roby one of our best players for Lardy Owens? Seriously you need to earn your place in a team. Long way to go in the season, but a No2 to help Finnigan is required.

We aren’t big enough in the pack to play up the middle, we need to be smarter than we are at the moment. Owens is a good player at this level and I understand he isn’t up to match fitness so I would have had him on the bench or at least Gregory. Maybe roby needed a rest?

Spot on I notice our props not big enough, so need to move the ball around more and tire the bigger players out. Definitely need to be smarter and hopefully the warmer weather will help us.

A lot of comments last year were , before judging Finnegan when he has put together his own team.

I think we have flattered to deceive at the start of the season, and if this is the best he can offer, then as a coach, I think he needs more than a mentor.

Looking at the team on paper, we should be doing better, and I would of expected us to be playing a brand of rugby to beat teams like York and Barrow comfortably. It is not the defeats, but the manner of the defeats which is so disappointing.

After the first few games, we have just been beaten twice by teams with players who wanted it more and worked harder.

Henderson would be a good choice imo and I would have thought we could finance the move with the money we saved by not signing decent front rowers.

@pascal this comes down to tactics and if finnegan doesn’t make those calls then our 6&7 should be changing the calls. Wingers and centres on plays 1&2 then drop off balls to prop on play 3, out to second row on 4&5 then kick

why don’t we move it out wide on 3&4 across the pitch make their bigger  lads work more

York are a good championship side and I wouldn’t expect us to be beating them comfortably. But I would certainly expect us to at least be competitive. We were miles off today in most departments.

We knew what to expect with their starting line up, you have to run them wide not up the middle

our kicking game was pants

line speed ok for short periods then lost it

they targeted fozzard, slowing our ptb also with lots of second lying on

owens not up to speed for sure, difficult game for his first game

some bad decisions by my hero Thaler, doro never a yellow card, tryer ok, shepparding for first half try and sure there last was a forward pass

also why does he keep shouting move, nothing happens and he gives bugger all ?
but all in all we are still doing ok in my opinion, we will win more than we lose and end up in the playoffs, with poss levy returning by then

enjoy the ride, life is too short

@ditton-donkey it’s pointless making the playoffs with a squad of players who don’t want to be promoted

McKay surely all our players try to win every game, and heaven forbid if we did get promoted I would doubt more than a handful of the current squad would be retained and then they can continue part time at Leigh, barrow etc

@ditton-donkey I hope I’m wrong but I believe we haven’t got the setup to get promoted for at least a good 5 years as to “rebuild” after the mess we were left in and I totally understand why sheens walked away not only the job in the nrl but why coach at a club who don’t have the desire to play at the top level.

like you said only a handful of the players would go up with us but I don’t know who?

farnworth, doro, fozzard… who else would make the cut? That’s a lot of the lads thinking about their job and not wanting full time rugby.

The 'desire' to play at SL level is there as far as the club is concerned but the means, meaning hard cash, simply isn't.

The club is trying to increase the crowd support with some success but even if that is maintained it is doubtful that we will ever have enough to attract the big players that we will need. Cash will be the deciding factor for whoever wants success.

Again, given the crowd support plus VIQI, progress will be slower than some can stand. Your 5 years is about right imo, but either we maintain that support or lose the club.

We should have a chant like the wire "it's always our year"

Ours should be "it's always five years"

I am sick to death of this building crap been going on now for 20 years, we just want a team that gives it all and then and only then will people come and watch.
