I don’t think many coaches or possibly any coach could have got that squad last year as high as fifth given the sheer lack of forwards due to injuries and other absences. Happy to give Finnigan a pass given he wasn’t responsible for the recruitment bar Lawton and Hulme. This year is his chance to have a fair crack at proving himself.
I'm hoping that the last few games, Whitehaven debacle apart, are a precursor to what we can expect this year with a full pre season with SF.
Think without spending bigger in one go, it is very difficult to make the jump from scraping 8th in the last couple of weeks of the season to getting up to Top 3.
Hope it goes well for SF as he speaks well and has the club at heart IMO but if there isn't clear improvement we will have to be looking elsewhere.

And they both played pretty well...

Passionate Pascal is saying Top position, as they are only human and a few teams are over rated. Let's start being passionate like this mad Frenchman.
That’s more like it well done Pascal !
Cheers matey. 👍
From what I can gather reading other teams message boards, we are not even on their radar as a team to be challenging.. I'm happy to just go about our business this year and catch teams cold thinking they are in for an easy 2 points. I think going by other teams squads we should be looking at 4th or 5th.. With 3rd achievable. Featherstone should top the league with Leigh 3-6 could be anyone's with a good run of form
I suppose we haven't made any eye catching signings from the point of view of signing 'names': but it hasn't always worked out for us or others, e.g. York last year. So other fans may not really be looking at us which is a change from the norm.
I suppose what you can see is that they have targeted experienced players at this level or players with potential from the level below/lower end of the league. On paper it seems like a good strategy, hopefully works out in reality.
Well nearly there now and await squad news, hoping for a win to start the season off well.
hearing the squad fitness levels are good, which is in sharp contrast to last season !
We are better and fitter than last season. 4th or 5th, and a trip to Spurs would be nice.
Paulie xx
This is an interesting read
I agree with comments about dependent on keeping key players free from injury, Leigh have just signed inu so that’s a good addition
