He took over at a low point in our clubs history, no money and no players. Part time was the only way forward and the academy had to close; think Terry O’Connor said it cost £100,000 a year to run. Our Aussie coach was a great coup but he walked and then Covid. Seen us through some tough years but sad to see (as V25says) a true fan leave the club👏👏👏

Not a big fan of chief execs anyway,they have no place in a small time sport such as RL,especially at second division level.Just taking a salary that could go towards a player or two.

Just like players, management staff come and go.

So long as he's left the club with decent foundations.

I suppose at this level, unless you are full-time there isn't necessarily the need for a Chairman, Board, CEO and General Manager.

He did really well in the academy and he took on the CEO job at the worst possible time, just a pity the Sheens and Finnigan appointments didn't work out.

Well in fairness to him he has done what he thought was best for the club, so I say thanks to him for that

Good luck to him in his future endeavors, I can see kear moving into a director of rugby position if he does a good job as coach, hopefully we have a vision of going full time in the next couple of years as it’s what’s needed to win promotion/licensing system depending which way it goes

@mckviking I don't think there's a vision of full time in the foreseeable future !!! Dwindling season ticket sales and a obvious lack of money dictate we are where we are unless a backer steps up

Don't worry, if I win the roll-over Lotto on Wednesday I'll put a few quid in the Club's coffers!

@sandgroper we don’t know what’s going on with the current board and potential investors, could a potential tv deal be being proposed for the championship that would bring interest in from businesses

@mckviking

Absolutely true !

Money from the top ruins sport tbh - no doing it just for the game anymore!!!

I wish Finney well. Did a great job bringing through a quality crop from his academy and then always did his best in later roles.
