One less home game for us. Such a shame. Bonkers!

Shows what a farce the fixture format is - no money for that game, will the RFL sub us for loss of income ?
don’t hold your breathe

Just read announcement and we will be recompensed for loss of income from that fixture( probably one of our best) but whether that is a flat fee for all who knows

also points will be awarded on a win percentage basis like in COVID - whatever that means, surely it should be 2 points and a 28-0 win ?
Luckily we beat them last year away ( can’t remember home result, think it was a loss even though I was there )

Sending Chris Hamilton in to sort the mess out worked out well then

@cumbria-viking To be fair this mess ran far deeper and a lot further back. RL maybe able to stand the loss of expansion clubs but loss in the heartlands is poor. RFL website has suspended all comments on post.

@steelviking it's a shocker tbh mate especially a club of fevs size ...as James has said on X ..it's the right thing for the sports integrity (RL integrity..ironic)...can't go running up massive debts ..go into administration and then near same people just about, think you can just come back to the table debt free

Sad times.

Went to POR many times, but only came away smiling on two occasions! I think there's only Odsal where we have a worse record!

Like you, we've lost a home fixture, and therefore a few quid, but the RFL statement says clubs will be compensated. How much? That remains to be seen!

Will it now mean two 48-0 scores, and two lots of two comp points awarded to you, us, and all others they were due to play? But if that's the case..................

Is it fair to those teams they weren't playing, and who won't get two Ws, and +98 on the points diff on the ladder, without kicking a ball?

Spelly.

Not to want to turn the knife but what about us season ticket holders, that’s one home game less for us.
I really feel for the Rovers fans, could they be resurrected next season❤️

Am I being daft but with 20 teams in the league and us only playing 11 of them, why cant we just play one of the other sides? Swinton, Keighley etc.

Maybe I'm being daft, but when you were due to meet Fev, wouldn't Keighley, and we be playing (say) Sheff, and 'Canes?

So your blank weekend, would not match theirs or ours.

Or am I missing summat obvious?

Spelly.

yes won’t be simple - would need to revisit the whole fixture list, which will not happen

they have said it will operate as the league did during COVID - can’t ember how that worked, was it percentages ?

** I think it was mate. You, we, and the others who had Fev on their fixture list, will have two games fewer to play than those who hadn't.

A percentage system will be be far from perfect, but is it the least imperfect solution that's available?

Answers on a postcard!

Total shitshow as usual from the RFL. All we want is an equitable fair handed running of our game.

No club really should get to this stage if checks and balances are properly worked out, a clear and fair governance of clubs operations and also a consistent way way that the RFL treat and/or sanction clubs in difficulty.

It’s fine now as looks like they’ve changed policy but how can any club (like when it happened to us) go into admin and then get another kick in the balls by a point deduction? It’s not as if the ‘Phoenix club’ had anything to do with the previous admin.

Piss up and Brewery always spring to mind with that shower.

Fingers crossed we don’t lose the Fev club entirely.

If you think of it as a Widnes fan, not having a team to watch for 12 months is a tough one to take so you have to feel for the fans.

In terms of IMG after the 14 SL teams the top 3 rated Championship teams are 1.Salford (old club) 2.London 3.Featherstone. How can that be right in any way.
