On the bench is still walking straight in.As said, we haven't even played a game yet so the situation can't be that desperate.Four weeks sounds like he is expected to figure in the line up each game otherwise Warrington wouldn't bother. It stinks.Play with what we already have and to hell with it.

Clueless.

Not the club, all the posters that have criticised the signing of Eribe before the season has started.  I'm sure I've read on this board many a time we need another prop, we will probably pick up a loan signing from a SL club etc.  Don't tell me people are surprised we've done exactly what most people expected them to?

If 2 props get injured in game one, all you geniuses will criticise the club that we didn't sign another prop to cover injuries and rest periods.

On to Eribe, I've watched his game now for about 5 years - and whilst he still has a lot to learn (like most young front rowers), he is a very good player and will stand out in the Championship.  At England Youth level he was the best prop in the country.  For a number of reasons his days at Warrington are numbered, and I can see this being an idea fit where he does come to Widnes permanently, let's just hope if he does he's welcomed a bit better than a lot of these posts.

Is Doro immune to injury ? My point is someone walking straight into the team who isn't even a Widnes player. I'm not against loans as a back up.I doubt Warrington have loaned him out just to watch from the sidelines and wait until needed.

We needed another prop and Doro offers us that for the first 3-4 matches.

Agree with what was said about his discipline last year, hopefully in a team that should be better he won't need to be giving away Penalties/Sin Binnings.

@sinbad

I don’t understand the negativity about loan signings. If we can bring in a player who makes us stronger it can only be a good thing. We don’t have the depth of props that we require from our permanent signings and with grady and Levi missing the friendly it leave us potentially short for the first few games. If we don’t have a strong start to the season we will not make the playoffs

For me it’s a good move on the whole, I agree the lad needs to work on discipline but when he played for us last year we was truly woeful as a whole, we have improved since then and hopefully see a better side of him for that, we are at least a prop short, adds more depth and hopefully will play well when given a chance

It's a no brainer really...most matchday 17s carry 4 props nowadays ...nzoungou isn't ready yet ....not sure grady will be ready by Sunday or may be out through work(to which I'd prefer doro anyway) ...leaves us dupree Farnworth n tilleke ...if he can pack in the penalties he's a great addition

Pascal thinks a positive signing as we need another prop.

We only have 26 players in our first team squad with no academy or reserves to fall back on. On top of injuries I think we lost some players from some matches last year due to work commitments. I think its inevitable that we will need loans this year in particular in the forwards. I am not sure of the bubble situation at Warrington and whether Doro has had to forego his full time training to play for us. This was an issue last year for us. I don't have an issue with us taking Doro on loan I think we have gone into the season short on props.

Clueless seems you don't know the meaning of the word.

If the club had not signed a crocked prop and signed another prop then we would not be in this situation. The clubs recruitment regarding props has been shite despite the fact that they admitted they got it wrong last year and would resolve the situation. the season has not started yet by the loan signing it states the rest of the props ain't good enough.

Wire crunchie all over in the past with loan signings and seems you know so much about the loanee then you should know the guy has no discipline and is a penalty machine.

Brilliant.

So you're agreeing with me that we needed to bring someone else in based on what we had?!

The risk involved in signing a prop on loan in very low, I suppose the bigger issue is that some fans don't like being dependent on Warrington which is sadly exactly where we're at.

By the way, considering they've 's**t' on us with loan signings in the past as you say, I'd suggest that no one has loaned us more players than Warrington in recent years, which considering we have no academy or reserve team has helped us out massively.

Eribe's issue is his temperament, but it's also what makes him the  player he is using his aggression.  I've no doubt he will make a positive impact on this team.

Whilst there is a sense that Warrington messed us about last season, it would seem to be a case of needs must, yes we can moan about recruitment and it would be nice to have enough props of our own, but we are where we are and, as has been said, Doro gives us options!

As a matter of interest, there were posts/rumours last year that we had a poor relationship with Saints, particularly over loans, seemingly decent players had been offered by Saints only to be rejected/ignored by us. I have no idea if this is true, or whether the terms of such offers were not acceptable, but it would seem odd if we chose not to pursue good options from Saints, when we were often short of players!

Overall the balance of the squad is very good.  It appears the club have had big issues in signing prop forwards hence the reason Grady will be playing prop this year.  Not sure on Doro as only seen him a couple of times but needs must and hopefully he will go well for us

Whose the ‘crocked’ prop exactly?
