@prisoner the council have basically already made their excuses in their statement as to why they’ll stick with the plastic.
basically said to repair/replace the plastic it will cost them 600k and gives them more leeway to hire the pitch out for bookings and for training/playing purposes for more clubs
theyve said to change it to a hybrid or grass pitch it will cost 1.2 mil and whilst is opens up to more events (World Cup fixtures etc) it hinders their ability to let it out to others.
for what it’s worth I want to revert back or at least do a fax and go hybrid as their pitch looked top notch
@scouseviking55 if they went grass they would also have to fix the stand lol which will never happen if they want top class fixtures at the stadium
Just a quick one about dual reg next season,
I've heard from somewhere that we'll be with warrington again just wondering what the score is with that cheers.
Liam Bent should be nowhere near the front row, he makes no impact at all, hes a waste of a tackle.
Hopefully DR - if it exists next season will be with either stains or Leigh, the dire arrangement has not worked and when you consider that is an arrangement between one of the poorest performing SL teams is there a point ?
What are the club going to do to keep the ever dwindling number of Season ticket holders after another dire, gloomy, disappointing season and do they realise how frustrated we speckies are becoming.
Started the season with hopes and expectations of a play-off position. Ended it once again in disappointment. Low point for me among many low points, was the loss against 11-man Doncaster. High point and gave false hope for the season was the away win at Toulouse in our first league game and probably the performance and game atmosphere in the game against Warrington.
What is the point of season long loans that can be ended after one game? Dual registration, I can see to cover for injuries, but disruptive, and what is the point of giving contracts to players and then don't play them? Surely, we need a bigger squad to cover for injuries or to ensure that long-terms loans are on a contractual basis for a minimum period before any call-back permitted.
Question to the Club. If we have obtained financial backing for SL bid, what plans are in place for financial backing if we (as likely) remain in the Championship. My guess is that with financial backing, we could look to build a squad around 3-4 quality players eg a couple of props, a running half-back and centre, with the aim of competing in 2026 for a SL place.
totally agree, if we have the money backing hopefully that is for championship too
if so we should be in with a good shout of top 4 as I suspect York, Toulouse and bradfraud will be gone and maybe one more
but as we all know we desperately need a running stand off ( I see roberts has been released by stains )
possibly Bennison and maybe Percy heading our way so hopefully roberts too
with dr we need to move from the low placed sl team to either leigh or stains
no surprise then as York are a shoe in for the IMG gradings, as a full time club.so why would they want to come to a championship part time club ?
sad really as they would have made a big difference to us
York signing Roberts would be a real kick in the teeth to the halfbacks that got them to this position in Higano and Harris
@scouseviking55 Roberts surely won't be ahead of Harris he ll be a spare half back
@vikingfox71 would he want that at 21 though? You’d hope he’d want to be a starter which we could potentially offer
Yes but probably double money at York shows they doing it properly compared to us just all words no action
