Mike I think you only have to go through the other topics to see what fans already think mate. 😂👍 Who are the supposedly investors for Super League if got the nod? I can not see us getting Super League but why can they not invest in the Championship? We need to be aiming above top 4 especially with 2 big spenders in Bradford and York probably going up. We sign a 34 year old Langtree for 2 years who is always injured. Gregson and Lyons rewarded 2 years who are bang average players. I can understand Lyons as back up half back, but we keep banging the drum for a running number 6 who takes the line on. Our recruitment should be better with a few big props for starters.

I'm just going to bang the same drum every man cat and dog can see ....the need for a running half back....a line breaker ..just someone that'll take a hit to find the right pass or slip through a hole....a running 6 is an absolute must ...to put it in perspective take our first two games with hunslet ...the worst team in the league with the smallest budget ..but managed to source a 6 in Lachlan hanneghan that caused havoc against us and others  just by purely being a running half that always looked to run and hit a gap with quick feet ....I'm not saying target him but a player of that ilk should be a necessity....the best player in the league...Liam Harris ..running half ...always popping up..being involved darting through gaps....if you actually look at all the squads in the championship...were the only club that doesn't have a player of that mould ....

The other must ....we have got to have 4/5 props next season....not play Murray and shoehorn a back rower into prop  ....the drop off when Murray leaves the pitch is unreal.... interchanges are vital ..you can't have the level drop off so dramatically....let Lawton  McWhirter etc play in the back row ...it's what their best at..for me I think jack Bibby and two robust big ball carrying props are a must ....I think we have plenty in our back line so surely the recruitment should be centred around a 6 and front rowers ...thoughts ?

The average age of the fan base is a worry for me. We must have data from season ticket sales. What are we going to do about it to attract the next generation.

Since 2019 in what areas if any have we made progress.

Last time I graced the terraces at the DCBL Stadium, I thought I was on The Mrs Merton Show.

Tell Coleman to stop being too matey with players it does come across that way. It is a results business and you sign who is best to win you games and you should keep a certain distance away from players. His loyalty to some players has put Coleman under scrutiny with fans. I agree to a certain extent need loyal players who can do a job but I love to be loyal and play for Widnes, but I know I am not good enough. Coleman can still be a nice guy and get on with players it just seems too much loyalty to players who are not performing. As Cumbria Viking suggested need 4 or 5 big props to roll teams and a running number 6 is a priority who can step, run and dart towards the line. Play players in there best positions like back row than at prop. For example McWhirter and Lawton are not props so he needs to recruit wisely.

Dan is bang on about getting more youngsters to the games, but winning on the pitch the kids want to watch though. Losing so many games at home has not helped matters and needs addressing.

Maybe start a family zone in one of the stands and a junior kemik club make the kids feel wanted on match days and that they belong a xmas party , watch a training session, meet the players  etc give them a yearly membership ?

What are your thoughts on the balance of the squad so far. Why have we resigned so many players who just are not up to it and so many players who play in the same position ie. Loose forward

Having the basis of a 'known ability' squad is a sensible base for the team but as has been highlighted above if we are to become a top six club we need a pack that frightens the opposition.

Iirc it was one of our old coaches who said that the bench needs to be stronger than the team in the field! That scares the opposition.

Regarding Lyons, when Gilly was injured Lyons started to use his short kicking game and it worked but he got injured and has never used it since. Presumably Gilly calls the shots.

I'm not sure that Mellor is the answer tbh, he was a lightening scrum half alongside Brown but we haven't seen just how creative Mellor is now. His loyalty would fit the AC code!!

The ever changing selection hasn't helped to build a constructive side, injuries don't help but players need time to 'gel' and continually changing the format doesn't help either. (Saints have had similar problems!)

It is important that we hold on to our ST base as without it how can the Board predict our 'spend' capability and bid for improved quality?

Finally, provision of a job for, say Aussie or PNG players, is an important consideration in the part time sector.

Aussie youngsters still like the option of a year or so in the UK as part of their life experience and there must be players in the 'Cup' sides who are never going to be NRL stars but, like Maizen & co. would be good captures.

The club talks about being in super league and having the financial support to be competitive, where’s that support now when arguably we need it the most because looking at our current squad and retentions we are looking at a bottom end championship side not a top end.

Has anyone heard about who these potential backers would be.

Irrespective of who might be a backer if the the Board has a 'plan' as AC indicated share it with the supporters!!

Obviously  some things maybe have to be kept under wraps but it helps to keep hope alive if we can share optimism.

The things done with the bowler should be done at every home game to make it a event

face painting , merch stall , pocket money. Stuff for kids to buy kemik or cheerleaders drop buy get the kids involved and wanting to drag parents to go

Does the club think that the horrendous state of the pitch will effect their SL application.

Are there any plans to renew/replace the pitch ?.
